  • Guest, we will be conducting site maintenance August 4th and some downtime is expected. At this time Rally Point and the Member Map will also become an app-only feature for long-term security and stability. A few days after this maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.

    FNG forum new guy

Look on-line in your area for what shops are available, then find some reviews about them. See how they back the products they sell from manufacturers they do business with. If they don't back them at the store level, but instead refer you to the makers Company, then I would look elsewhere...

Hy-Lift accessory attachment 'pin': Do you use a bolt &nut, or a pin w/spring clip?

Some accessories come with a standard bolt and nut secure arrangement, while a few come with the "LOOPED" spring secure pin arrangement. I replaced my nut and bolt safety system for ease of use with each of them. They were cheap at the hardware store, and made tracking where that easy to lose...

Options when an electric winch is not possible

I'm going to look for a quality HD jumper cable carrying case for use as a bag for a winch cable extension. This would both keep it clean and protected from the elements, while allowing a wrapped/dressed cable when not in use. I have straps for this, but cable might be a good addition, while...

Love the full curl RAM, and the orange sky shot[emoji2] When I was up that way, I just loved Alberta,BC, and AK. I hope to get back up there in the future.

If you are going to keep the front fascia stock, get yourself a front recovery point like the ARB or similar. If you have a trailer hitch option, buy yourself a 'hitch stinger' as a rear recovery point, than purchase a basic/simple recovery shackle and strap, for that first time you get stuck.

WARN 8274 winch. Who has one, What rig do you use it on, and why do you like it over newer model?

That is what I read a long time ago. That this winch was WAY underrated to the point you had to be careful of the line rating, as the winch itself would just keep on pulling way past that 8 K rating.

What is the last thing you bought and plan to buy?

What size are these, price, and retailer. Also, are these the water proof ones with the lid seal?

Options when an electric winch is not possible

I also have this little piece of kit also. I originally bought it for use as the picture shows. HOWEVER, in reality while it will work on steel bumpers, I question it's viability on stock OEM bumpers. It will likely bend that bumper somewhat when used. That hook will however grab a bull bar...

Options when an electric winch is not possible

One of the things I also did for my recovery gear, was purchasing a JACK-MATE accessory for my Hi-Lyft jack. It helps make the jack more versatile in it's recovery persona. You can use it as a stronger end piece, than what it originally came with it. It also can be used on uneven rocks as a...

    Overland Bound Emblems!

Definitely not to be confused with a street queen[emoji2] looks like it's well on its way. How much space is lost to the interior spare? Would you do the swing out if you could locate one not based on the gold standard...rare now[emoji2]

    Overland Bound Emblems!

H2's are becoming a rare breed. They once were everywhere here in Southern Nevada. Now, you rarely see a H2, and even H3's are disappearing off the road. I don't think it's from accidents, maybe just parked/garaged, or bought and moved out of the country more than likely. Over the years, i...

Lone Star Toyota Jamboree! You Going Too?

Subscribed to your You-Tube channel. That bash plate is doing it's job. RCI is one of the better ones,.....function over form. Definitely not a street queen! I so need a real skid/bash plate in that area behind the bumper and below the inter cooler,

    Overland Bound Geocache General Discussion

I mentioned a coupon for the OB store. That coupon could be a custom...NUMBERED patch or hat or shirt with your OB number. The cost would be less than the store price, so again it would be a managed expense.

    Overland Bound Geocache General Discussion

Being offroad orientated, the Pirates...smirk, wink wink, would be left to ,easy places, easily accessed. By keeping it SWAG directed, the interest would be limited to OB forum members for the most part. The cash idea while attention getting, would just bring in those who would likely abscond...

Winch Gloves: You use them Correct?

When outlaying this type of money, I would want to ensure a proper and exact fit. Definitely not a throwaway acquisition. So I would want a trial fit. That Expedition Portal article mentioned an American made glove...Elk Skin...that was in that price range. Said they were high quality...and...
