    California Gas cans

Wavian cans are nice, but pricey, and you can buy a normal spout for them from Amazon.

Installing and powering a fridge in vehicle

If you have a 12 volt fridge and a lot of other 12 volt accessories, it would be wise to carry a jump starter pack, I recommend the Anti Gravity XP10. Also, if you have purchased the Costco Type S jump starter, you might want to test it on your rig, it barely jumps my 99 4Runner and will NOT...

What is the Quintessential Camp Food?

When I was younger, Dinty Moore Beef stew was my go to, now that I am older, rib eye steak and baked potato cooked over the camp fire is my goto.

How are you guys powering your fridge in the back of SUV?

In my 99 4Runner, I have an Engle MT45 and just plug it into the cigarette lighter receptacle, as long as I run the engine every day in the morning for about 30 minutes, the battery wont go dead. In my F150, I have an Engle MT80 and also have a 100 watt solar panel connected to a Victron MPPT...

Simple Mistake, and hopefully some good advice.

Try pulling your emergency brake next time (just one or two clicks, not all the way), it will fool the rear end into thinking both wheels are stuck and will alternate power to each wheel getting you unstuck. I read about this in 4Wheeler magazine back in the 80s and it works.

    Dallas to Telluride, June 2021

Lightener Creek is a nice campground but I was disappointed with their cabins. If you are staying in cabins, I would stay at the Durango KOA. I have also stayed at the Ouray KOA and recommend it as well for cabin, tent or RV camping. I also recommend the Amphitheater Campground in Southern...

    Jackery Power Station

You can use any brand solar panel with the units that have an MPPT controller, but you will need to get or make a cable that will connect to the solar panels you purchase and the Jackery. I use Powerpole connecters on my Jackery 1000.

    12 volt fans?

I have 2 of the Endless Breeze fans that I have had for over 12 years, and they run great, but are very expensive, they pull 40 watts when run on the high setting. I recently bought one of these " Quick Products QP-TE1-0126 Boundless Breeze Ultimate RV/Marine Fan" off of Amazon and have been...

    Bodega brand fridge freezer units

Some of those Bodega units look exactly like an Alpicool. I was going to buy the Alpicool T50 Dual Zone fridge Freezer but Amazon shows they are currently unavailable, so I was looking for another dual zone and noticed the Bodega has a BO-T50 which is exactly like the Alpicool T50. I might pull...

    McIver’s Cabin

The Pacific Crest Trail runs along the McIver 4X4 Trail, so if you go in the summer time, bring extra water and food to share with hikers. I did not know this until the first time I did it in my 85 4Runner, we went up there in the summertime and my friends jeep overheated at the top of the...

    McIver’s Cabin

I have done that trail about 25 times on dirt bike and twice each in my 85 and 99 4Runners. The last time was in the 99 in 2016. Almost any 4 Wheel drive can make it up there.
