One other note about the 12V car style adapters. Many of those have a fuse in them. If you convert over to Anderson or barrel style connectors be sure to add a fuse if the original adapter had a fuse.
Doesn't your Yeti have a built-in charge controller? If so, you should be able to bypass the Renogy controller and plug the solar panels directly into the Yeti as long as you don't exceed the voltage. It should then give you a real-time display. I do this with my Yeti 1000 and my 100W Renogy...
The length the battery will run your fridge depends a lot on the ambient temp. The warmer it is the more the fridge will cycle. My Yeti 1000 will easily run my 63qt ARB for several days when it's cold out. I haven't wanted to run it down that low when it has been hot out.
I am downsizing from 20s to 17s on my 2020 Cummins. It makes for a better ride both on road and off. Much better floatation when aired down too. 17x9 Racelines with 37" tires. I have a similar combo on my 2007 and it has been great. Night and day difference over stock. Remember, as you...
I have a pop up tent style and a propane water heater. Sometimes I just use a solar shower. I like the pop up because I can set it up away from my Jeep.
Some of the newer cars/trucks with push-button type starting have the computer monitoring the battery state of charge. With those, you should have the negative lead of the battery pack attached to a good ground or at least to the ground side of the Battery Sensor and not to the battery's actual...
I carry both. I keep thinking about leaving the cables behind but I haven't done it yet.Old habits die hard. If I am going out for several days I also will have my solar panel with me and I have charging system with it too.
My Noco GB70 easily starts my Cummins. It has also started a Ford Powerstroke. I had a battery issue at a theme park and the security guy had a Noco GB50 power pack that had already started 4-5 cars. We didn't think it would start my Cummins. I had cables but he suggested trying the pack...
In addition to what you carry, I carry splicing tools for synthetic rope, a soft shackle or two, a few tug-ems (at least one of them with stretch for snatching) and a rock sleeve for the winch line. I am sure there is more I am forgetting. That's in addition to digging tools. I also have a...
I use a folding Renogy 100W to keep my Goal Zero 1000 charged. I use it mostly to power my fridge, lights, laptop etc. I didn't mount the solar panel so my rig can be in the shade when possible and I can still charge. Sometime the system leaves the vehicle and stays at camp for short wheeling...
Sounds like you are heading for an interesting adventure. Make sure to do some research on altitude diving before hitting those lakes. Be sure to post up some pics.
Some fridges will let you calibrate them so you get a more true reading on the temp gauge. I know my 63qt ARB did. I keep mine about 32-34 so I don't freeze my drinks. If I want to keep stuff frozen I put it at the bottom and then cover with a piece of closed-cell foam.
If they come out with the Z6S later this year as rumored, there may be some good deals on the Z6 out there. I doubt it will be a big enough change for me to sell mine but I know that there are many who will.
