If mine is going to sit unused for a while it is turned off with a rag propping it open a bit. For the last year it has been on full time- either 12V in one of the trucks or 120V in the garage.
Excellent. I like what I see with the new Bronco and the reviews have been good. I have had good luck with first edition vehicles. I hope you have the same experience.
I love that trail. Coming in from the Ironwood side is definitely interesting and allows for an easier entry. I found that out the first time I ran it on my dualsport :grinning:
That is in a beautiful area up there. That route is usually graded dirt road and very easy so you should have no worries. Of course, you can take Holcomb Creek 3N93 if you want a little shortcut. Just kidding --- Don't do that in stock rigs. It is a very fun but tough trail that parallels 3N16.
That looks like a nice unit. Self-contained is a really nice feature. I would have trouble deciding between the two. I have never seen the Karnagewelder in person though.
I do like that the Readywelder is a spool gun instead of a standard wire feed mig. I can also hook it up to my welder...
I have a Readywelder 10000-CS Mig welder. It works very well with just two car batteries. It comes with all the connections needed. Fortunately, I haven't had to use it. The one time I did I hadn't bought one yet. I almost used it once on a friend's truck but somebody else whipped theirs...
Sump protection first if you are going to be in an area there is any chance of damaging that oil pan. That makes for a bad day for you and the trail. Rock rails are nice but it is better to damage body panels than the heartbeat of your ride.
For both my vehicles - Ram 2500 and Jeep LJ
--On dry pavement 2WD
--Snow 4WD
--Dirt trail 2WD until very loose and more traction is needed
--High-speed desert running 2WD unless there is a lot of deep sand
--In the rocks or anywhere low speed and traction is needed 4-Lo
My wife is thinking about getting a 4xe. We looked last week but the local dealer had them marked up $10K over MSRP and also had additional charges for Nitrogen tire fill and GPS tracker. We laughed and walked away.
I used the ARB wiring kit in my LJ but it had no 12V in the back anyway. I also used their receptacle in my truck. The two pin plug is very secure. They work great!
Did you have change the fittings to use your fill system? Reviews mentioned they use proprietary sized fittings. I have the ARB Twin in the portable box but I was thinking about picking one of these up to carry every day and keep the larger ARB for trips.
There are several mosquito nets that are sold separately. That and a tarp and you are all set. Practice with the setup and the lay if you are going to be in them for a night. Get on a good diagonal lay in the hammock so you lay flat to avoid a sore back.
