    2021 Defender 110

Yup, I have many a track day under my belt and the dry nitrogen (keyword dry, not nitrogen) is needed for predictable changes in tire pressure as they warm up. Nitrogen itself follows the ideal gas law and expands with temperature the same as other gasses like oxygen, CO2, and "air." The...

    Garmin Overlander

I find Gaia to be much more comprehensive, I also have an onX Off-Road membership that can be helpful for getting more detailed info on some trails/areas. I love the ability to use Gaia on my computer, plan routes, etc, and then they automatically sync with Gaia on my phone and tablet. Do you...

    2021 Defender 110

Holy smokes, that is crazy. Tire pressure shouldn't change much when going up in load range, take a look at the load and inflation charts from the tire manufacturer, pretty much every one I've looked at for a given load had the same pressure requirement whether it was LR C, D, or E. The higher...

    Garmin Overlander

The Overlander is cool on paper, but $700 is insane. Buy yourself a tablet and run Gaia, onX, and whatever else for less money and have something multi-purpose, IMO. The backup cam isn't 100% wireless, it's just wireless between the cam and the Overlander, you still have to wire the camera...

    Colorado ZR2 Emblem Placement

I assume the OP is actually asking about where to put their OB member emblems, not the ZR2 emblems. :grinning:

    2021 Defender 110

What's the PSI listed on the tire placard on the B-pillar? Sounds like the dealer didn't do a full PDI which includes adjusting the tires to the correct recommended street pressures. The factory inflates the tires high to/near sidewall pressure for shipping, the dealer is supposed to lower it...

    Inflatable RTT

I'm always a bit leery of inflatable anything aside from self-inflating mattresses which are worth the risk. Just imagine a tree branch poking a hole or accidentally pinching one of the tubes during take-down and then you don't have a tent anymore until you search for the leak. Finding leaks...

    2021 Defender 110

Y'all seen the TFL videos on their Defender...adventures? Oof. Hope you all have better luck, they are pretty cool SUVs.

Censorship in the time of mistrust

I have no idea what threads you're talking about, @USStrongman, so I have no input as to why they may have been closed down. Still, this thread would be better served in another section, like Community Ideas and Requests perhaps. If folks have a problem with how mods manage the forums or...

Censorship in the time of mistrust

I'm all for "friendly banter" and I think it can be helpful to ground some discussions that might be getting heated over a difference in opinion even if that discussion is related to overlanding, etc. There's no need to remain formal and technical all the time, but at the same time I totally...

Censorship in the time of mistrust

There's a HUGE difference between politics directly related to overlanding and someone bringing up politics or venting about the political landscape that is totally unrelated to overlanding. Saying that politics are part of overlanding isn't patently false, but it also shouldn't be an excuse...

Censorship in the time of mistrust

Kind of like this very thread which has no place in the general overlanding discussion section. It belongs in the off-topic section. On the topic of censorship and whatnot, people agree to the rules when they sign up. If something they post goes against the rules then they have no place to...

Anyone used a vehicle leveler app?

Now that would be cool! I wish I liked air suspension more than I do, every time I raise my wife's Jeep up I feel like one of these frogs. Someone really needs to come up with an air system that allows the vehicle to be raised and lowered without affecting ride or suspension travel. :)

Anyone used a vehicle leveler app?

I just use the built-in tools in my smartphone, both my previous iPhone and current Samsung Galaxy have built-in level apps that makes it really easy to do a level check when parking.

Falken Wildpeak AT3W, a tale of two sets of tires

What PSI are you running on the street? I went from a P255/55R20 all-season to my P275/55R20 Wildpeaks and run them between 30 and 35psi, they ride great. No worse than the all-seasons they replaced. So, could it be the tire? Sure. I don't know what tires they replaced or how your previous...

Must be referring to the Bronco Sport or perhaps seeing media test units, the Bronco isn't available for purchase yet.

Falken Wildpeak AT3W, a tale of two sets of tires

Very strange that you've had issues with multiple Wildpeak tires across different sizes. I ordered a set of P275/55R20 Wildpeak A/T3w off of Amazon ("shipped and sold by Amazon" but really they came directly from Simple Tire), local tire shop had no problems or complaints about balance and...

Eh, $80 for something that can be bypassed with a set of bolt cutters by just cutting the bolt? No thanks.

    Mobile Ham Radio Selection?

I have a Kenwood TM-V7A...in storage. Missing a couple of knobs, but still functions as far as I know! Maybe I should find a new home for it. What are the rules for someone that has both a Kenwood and Yaesu? Does this end up summoning Satan or something? :smilingimp:
