Nice! I enjoyed the humor!
Last year I did a day run with a few friends. One of them is new to off road driving and saw a set of traction boards in the bed of another friend’s truck. He asked what they were for. Another friend, a hard core rock crawler, stated “ That’s for when you run out of...
I don’t have any experience with GoPro’s, but I can tell you to stay away from the cheap knock-offs. I have one that I paid about $30 from Amazon. It’s a complete piece of rubbish.
I am aware of some folks moving over to DJI after having issues with Go pro.
I haven’t needed to use it as such yet, but I carry my old seabag to use. Route the shoulder straps thru the spare tire (Jeep jk).
The lining has turned rancid, so it’s not much good for anything else.
A tidbit I leaned from the LLOD ewetube channel is to keep the trash bag in a drybag...
Something that might be a little more tidy than a rag for the bar oil seepage is a pet pad, used for house training dogs. They’re a bit more easier to get than the industrial absorbent pads.
With my gas saw I find there’s less seepage if I keep it laying on it’s side, bar down.
At the risk of going off topic, I met my wonderful bride because of a boundary waters camping trip. She didn’t go, but her brother did. I didn’t know him going into the trip. I was a last minute invite by a mutual friend to fill a spot where someone else had to back out.
We’ve been together 17...
I didn’t have any definite plans, but had some dreams and goals of some trips.
Now I’ll be doing good to do some “local” ( within a couple hrs drive) trips.
Sorry you had to bail early. Glad you made it home OK.
The road ended up being physically closed about a mile farther and we had to turn around. Ultimately we ended up heading up towards Flagpole.
I have both; the Tacoma is (or was, until fuel prices started skyrocketing) my daily driver, the JKU is the camping rig. Both are stock suspension/ tire size. I like them both.
As MOAK said, Jeeps are not known for their reliability, but even the Jeepers joke about that.
A lot of your choice...
Thats a nice looking truck!
Ground clearance probably won’t be an issue, but you might get some pinstriping, depending on where we go.
Shawn should be able to give you a better idea on Saturday.
I’ve done most of that area in a JKU with stock size wheels and stock suspension. A friend has done it with a 3rd gen Tacoma with a mild lift. There’s a few areas where one needs to pay attention to one’s line.
Hope that helps.
What are you driving?
We plan on being there Sat.
Keeping an eye on the weather forecast. So far looks like mild temps and minimal chance for rain, so we’re likely going to camp somewhere Sat night.:grinning:
