Can we now just go back to just calling it “car camping”?

It's only Car Camping when it comes from the Car Camping region of France. Otherwise, it's just Sparkling Glamping.

    Let them eat SPAM!

That's cleverer than a two-headed crow, I'll give you that!

    Let them eat SPAM!

I dunno, about a quarter inch. Gotta have a good crust, but a tender interior.

    A Reintroduction

Hi everybody! I'm Sam, I was active for a while and kinda fell off the face of the earth for the past few years. A lot has happened, I no longer have my truck. I'm a Dad now. Things are different, but I'm still a superdork extraordinaire. I previously had a RWD Toyota T-100 pickup that I used...

2wd rigs in action. Photos encouraged!

This is my old RWD Toyota T-100 when I was just starting to really build her up for adventuring. This was taken at Fern Canyon back in 2017, before the lift, limited slip, dual batteries and NWTI bumper. I'll dig around and see if I have anything from when she was built up.

Lost Sierra 4x4 Trail - Gold mines, ghost towns, and glory on the trail!

I really appreciated your sharing this with us all. I love exploring Gold Country and looking for old mines, and this got me eager to get back out and explore.

    Let them eat SPAM!

I will never say no to an SLT: SPAM, lettuce and tomato sandwich, especially if the SPAM has been fried crispy and is still warm when you bite in. Homegrown tomatoes and homemade mayo make it a poor person's lunch fit for a king!

I'll be there with my ratty 1-legger T100.

    What is the one spice

There's something special when it's been earned by mileage, whether it's a meal, a night's rest, or even a gulp of water.

    The New Ford Bronco

Good to know. The service advisor basically said that transmission failure isn't a matter of "if" but "when" and that scared me quite a bit.

    The New Ford Bronco

I'm really surprised by that, is there anything in particular that you do to keep t up? From what I've read the issue is that the fluid gets hot and kills the oil pump. Are you just being diligent on maintenance?

    The New Ford Bronco

I just feel short-changed by the JL: the jump from CJ-7 to YJ was pretty dramatic, and from YJ to TJ was another massive leap, but the JL just feels more like a mid-run refresh rather than a new generation. Then again, that's basically what Toyota did with the third-gen Tundra so what do I even...

    What is the one spice

Speaking as a backpacker, the one spice that makes everything taste incredible is hunger.

Thanks! I love that poncho, and not just because I'm a Frank Zappa fan.

    The New Ford Bronco

Yeah, all I can really say that's right about the JL is that they fixed the JK's face, otherwise it's still just a JK with a diesel option and lighter frame. If the Gladiator had an extra cab longbed option I'd consider it, but as it is right now it has too much cab and not enough bed to be...

    The New Ford Bronco

That's what I'm sweating, too. This thing already squeals a bit in overdrive and slips on a hill, it's just a matter of time before it's a brick.

    The New Ford Bronco

The CVT is such a hot garbage pizza in any application. I'm in the process of fluffing up my wife's Versa we can sell it off before the CVT grenades.
