    What boots do members wear

My go to boot is 5.11's evo series. I have had a couple now and no complaints with any of them. Also used them for work when I was still running a route and would be on my feet for 10 hours or longer with no major fatigue. Price point not bad either. For those who like tactical style boots they...

    New Midland MXT275 (GMRS Mobile)

I recently got the mxt115 and working on installing it now. Really like the radio and mic has a nice feel to it. But i will say thay when purchasing I went into it as i was buying a $150 radio and getting a free antenna. Boy am I glad I set low expectations lol. Pretty weak magnet anf 19ft of...

    Pwny's build codenamed "RamRod"

Hey guys. Been away from the forum for a while (boy life can throw some nasty curve balls altho I was never good at hitting sliders much either lol). I had originally planned on building my grandfathers 2wd f150 but plans were altered as the motor let go at a young 110k (never much of a ford guy...

    2017 Silverado 1500 Z71 new build

glad to hear the 2' is workin for ya. 1.9 swr not horrible and defiantly livable( the lower the better but you are not in damaging your radio range). As for channels go not to sure, we usually just find an empty channel and use it. If we are trying to find other people then we will either scan...

    2017 Silverado 1500 Z71 new build

" Im planning on mounting the antenna in the opposite ditch that my regular antenna sits." Am I correct in assuming that this means fender mount on drivers side? If this is the case. 1) make sure that what ever antenna you go with is a NGP (no ground plane) antenna. This will help with your...

OB Approved So You Want To Be A HAM? (US Edition)

Good to know. I actually sourced a cheap dual band antenna with way more cable then needed. I plan to shorten the cable and mount in attic. Wasn't planning on getting an antenna yet but when its 15 bucks for the antenna cable and adaptor for a ht at a garage sale couldn't pass it up.

OB Approved So You Want To Be A HAM? (US Edition)

What kind of distance have you been getting out of it. I want to get a mobile rig but to get started and talking with nearby friends ( within 40 miles ) i only need to hit the repeater that is about 1.5 miles away. Just curious on how its been working for you.

    Aluminum or Steel Flatbed

I personally would go steel. I also have had both in the past. Actually truck came with one and ended up trading for a steel one. The truck got used a lot empty so the aluminum bed was too light. I did wheel with both and i really didn't notice much difference. I did notice the weight but since...

...but it's a Subaru Outback?! Build thread.

Well at least you had shade during the problem. Im sure the added shade made things go smoother. Or at least keep you a bit less agitated while figuring out a game plan.

    RADIO?

I will always have a cb. For me its the minimum. I do plan on getting my license to be a ham operator but will still have a cb. Cbs are generally cheaper and easier to get into (with my experience) so that's usually the way people tend to go at first. You don't have the range with cb as with ham...

2007 GMC Sierra NNBS Build (slowly but surely)

One thing i would look into would be a custom/ lift leaf pack instead of just using lift blocks. I personally like deaver springs. I had a set made for my 01 2500 that i wheeled alot. I loved the pack they built for it and was very reasonable price point as well. I ran a lift block in the rear...
