    Overland Trash Systems

I use an old medium alice on my Side by side (free, leftover stuff) and I'll probably just use an old duffle bag (again, free, leftover gear) for the van.

Horror Stories and getting in over your head on the Trail.

Years ago in southern Missouri I made two critical mistakes: I didn't pay attention to the weather, and I got into a low, tight spot in the rain. Got caught in a flash flood. Scratch one pickup, and my buddy almost drowned. I still don't know how I got him out, I'm a pretty lousy swimmer. Panic...

What changes to your rig did you like the least?

They said it was too tricky getting the holes in the right place. If a guy tells me he can't do the job correctly, I believe him!:grinning:

    Dogs with motion sickness?

Our old Lab gets so excited when he sees we're going for a ride he makes himself sick. Then if the road is twitchy, he gets sick again. Dramamine works for him. We give him one before we start loading up (before he starts dorking out), and he's fine.

Recovery Board Color: What are your preferred Color Choices?

I bought some short knock-offs for our Honda side by side, blue was the cheapest color. Probably go with Maxsa's for the van. Since we want to paint the van a tan color, I'll probably get tan boards.

What changes to your rig did you like the least?

Wow, I would have thought this thread would be hoppin'! In our previous set-up (F250) we bought a camper shell without a roof rack. Instantly regretted that decision, and wound up sending it back to Snugtop to get the rack rails installed (local dealer wouldn't touch the job).

    Our van build

An explanation of what we've done so far: Bringing the van home from Idaho Falls (about 300 miles) the road noise was deafening. I checked it with a db app on my phone after I got home, and got an average of 91 db at 55mph, with peaks of 101 db. This will not do. Got on Amazon and bought a...

    Our van build

So we finally started making some progress on our van project, building a 2000 E350. Started out as a plain jane cargo van. The plan is a 20" Fiberine top, 4X4 conversion, light camper build (bed, counter, sink/stove, fridge, electrical system). So far I've done some fix-it stuff, added flip...

Found the right thing in U.K., how do I get it in U.S.?

I greatly underestimated my wife's shop-fu. I looked for two days with no results, tonight she managed to find a U.K. source for 320 bucks (American) delivered. Brett, thanks for the listing! But you're right, those Washington guys are way higher.

Found the right thing in U.K., how do I get it in U.S.?

This entered my mind, but I don't know anyone in the U.K. I thought about putting out a request here, but that's a big ask for a new guy to make.

Found the right thing in U.K., how do I get it in U.S.?

Hi folks! My wife found a great sink/burner combo in one of her watched sites, but it seems to be a U.K. only thing. https://www.justkampers.com/us/dometic-smev-mo8821l-1-burner-hob-sink.html This is what we're looking for, a Dometic SMEV 8821 sink/hob. Googling this I found only U.K. sites, and...

    Increasing fuel capacity

    Thanks for the leads!

    Increasing fuel capacity

Stupid question time... I am building a 2000 E350 4x4 van. The stock gas tank (mid-mount) has to be shortened to clear the transfer case, leaving about 30 gallons of capacity. With a V 10, that equals a pretty short range. The obvious answer is to hang some gas cans on the back, but I don't...

    1988 ('06) E350 Van Build

Yep, the stars aligned for me when I found ours, got everything I was looking for (cargo with door windows, V10, 4:10 post full-floating dana 60, manual windows, tilt/cruise, and everything works) and I bought it below budget. I'm interested to see how your manual swap is going to turn out...

    1988 ('06) E350 Van Build

Really glad to see this thread, this is very much like the build we are working on right now. I'm working on a 2000 E350, short body V 10. Your van looks really clean, but did you pull out the carpet and check the floor? Mine (cargo van, from Portland) had two small rust spots under the mat, and...

    Aphroducky, a VW Bus

Nice baywindow. I have a soft spot for aircooled VWs, currently working on a '74 super beetle.

Member Introductions *NEW MEMBERS INTRODUCE YOURSELF*

New from Idaho. We have been kicking around in a 2018 F250, with a Honda pioneer for rougher trails. Just started building a 2000 E350 so we can do it all (well, all we want to) with one vehicle. The plan is a 20" Fiberine top and 4x4 conversion. So far all I have got done is getting the floor...
