I live in Aptos, but because I don't drink, had no idea that there's a brewery there. I'd like to suggest rotating monthly (or any other interval) meeting locations so that everyone in the Bay Area can participate (a car club that I belong to does this) ... e.g., North Bay, East Bay, Peninsula...

Nice! I'll check out your route. I obtained a nice map from the Forest Service when I was there, which should come in handy as well when planning. May seems to be a good time to go, but I can't make the first weekend; the following three weekends look good for now.

Interested in Mendo... visited with some Series Land Rover friends last May, but couldn't stay to run with them. Water crossings!!

I wouldn't mind Prewitt Ridge either, as I haven't drive there. Looking at the map, there are a number of campgrounds in the area.
