Yukon XL build.
Prepping the truck tonight for running the Midland MXT 275 6db antenna tomorrow. Using a magnetic Mount on the roof and running the cable down through the roof rack footing (the hole will be under the foot), sidewall trim under carpet to center console.
Blacked out the rims to match the hood and grill. All done with Plasti-dip just to see if I liked the look. If it actually lasts awhile all the better. Plus you can recoat with little effort. (I did wet sand the grill first and spray the grill and rims with pre-etching primer before coating).
Looking for a quick and easy solution to getting comms set up to fit in with overlanding. I want a radio that can communicate with most everyone on the trail, and family members that hike away from the rig?
Thanks for the easy links to Amazon. Very helpful. Being a complete novice with ground based comms for my truck (Im an airline pilot using HF’s across the Atlantic every week) with Midland radio you suggested be able to communicate with guys on the trail using hams and vice versa?
