    Georgia traverse Labor Day weekend

I've been considering trying to do a little section of it, if my wife and munchkin are up for it. Was hoping to get some intel on the eastern side of the route, from Dillard on, before attempting it (as in is it mostly just gravel roads or is there some more technical stuff that I don't want to...

Thanks! I thought so too ever since I first saw them on these, before I bought the car. :) Oddly enough, I had a white VW GTI before this...and I hated the idea of black wheels on it. On this car though, it just works.

Ok, cool, that's right. I'm going to need to get some folding step stools to reach up top anyway, since this thing is going to get taller... should make life easier on the help too, lol (and the munchkin loves climbing into her car seat too).

They are indeed. Do I remember you saying you "protected" the rack bars with something before clamping these on? I've already scratched mine up good during the install (as I mostly had to hold it myself, my assistant wasn't as sure about what "hold it still" meant as I was, lol).

Fourtreks awning mounts came in yesterday, so got the ARB 2000 mounted and tested out. The munchkin approves. :)

    Overlanding With Toddlers Discussion Thread

Having just gotten into the overlanding idea, but having been into camping and backpacking in the past, we've started to introduce our munckin to it (she's now 2.5 yrs old). We were out for one camping trip last fall, and plan to get out much more this coming fall. She definitely enjoyed it last...

    Legal Weapons and Overlanding

Very well said. Sadly, there's so much bad advice and bad ideas out there regarding firearms. :(

    Great Smoky Mountains Trip

Sounds like you all should have a good time. If I didn't have commitments already made, I'd be considering it. Looking forward to hear what trails and all you guys find!

    Keeper Gun Magnet Mount

I prefer mine in my holster on my person. All the time. The idea of it bouncing around the car after an accident, or an unexpected bump doesn't appeal to me. I guess I tend to agree with the late Todd Green on this one (and so many other serious practitioners of good gun handling and shooting...

Finally “hard mounted” my Dark Angel DARK med kit to the passenger size head rest. Used an old nylon belt that’s just clipped onto the headrest. Having used the contacts in responding to a motorcycle vs auto accident (if you follow Dark Angel’s social media at all, its save #75), and using a...
