Did some camping with the family this past weekend, the wagon size and basket on top came in handy. Also managed to get in a drive on some dirt roads in the area, checking out Sarah's Creek Rd (and camp areas) as well as Walnut Fork Rd. The entire family enjoyed the camping, and we have plans to...
Love the new lighting mod man. I'd like to get a lightbar and eventually something like this on mine as well. Setting up a campsite and cooking, etc are a little easier when can light up the whole area decently, versus using a headlamp.
We took our daughter camping for the first time when she was a little over a year old. We were pretty strict with her schedule, as she responded very well to that (we were very lucky and she would sleep the whole night through by about 2-3 months old), so we didn't want to rush anything that...
Tried to head west from Dillard, encountered a road closed sign pretty quickly on Patterson Creek (?). Ended up going east from Dillard. Nice trip, quiet roads.
Snagged some recovery gear from a few local companies. Thanks to O'Neil Overland and Mercantile, who is right down the street from me for the MaxTrax and the tour of the shop and some of their campers, and to Southeast Overland for the quick responses and shipping in getting me a kinetic rope...
My lifted outback with Load Warrior on top and full size spare in the basket is right at 6'8". The main parking deck at my workplace has a limit of 6'8", so it's of limited use to me now...luckily there's another with 7' clearance. I fit into my garage at home with a couple inches to spare, so...
Had a similar issue earlier this morning. In one thread I was reading, it went from every other page being available to no pages available over a period of about 20 minutes.
I'll be interested to hear how it goes to.
I think our current plan might be to head up toward Clayton/Mountain City/Dillard on Friday, spend the night there, and then head west on the Traverse to Helen. This all assumes the munchkin allows it.
Very much depends on your needs. My wife and I have a Quarter Dome 3 for backpacking with, and easy single nights out where we don't want to take a lot to set up. I'm a fan of a 3 person tent for two, especially if one or both of you are over the size (height and/or weight) the two person tents...
It happens, but I was curious about that myself so I was looking for it when I hit the link. For as cheap as it is, I might snag one anyway. That said, I've encountered the 1lb bottles before where the threads get dinged up and aren't usable too...one of my reasons for not wanting to deal with...
Those are FourTreks mounts as well. As a person who recently added an awning and did some research into mounts, I can also highly recommend the FourTreks ones.
Some good info in this thread, as another person considering communications while out on local trails. So far, I'm only spending time in the North GA area, but hope to expand on that as my daughter gets a little older and more seat time becomes possible. While the HAM licensing and radio cost...
The description reads "BUILT-IN SAFETY FEATURE WHICH RESTRICTS OVERFLOW -The DozyAnt adapter automatically cuts off gas flow when pressure is reached "
I've been debating trying to find a 5lb tank myself, as I really hate the little ones too.
