If you're not at this level of adventure, you're dead to me as a true overlander. ;)

My wife designed the kitchen in our trailer. It has a large fridge/freezer, a microwave and a Vitamix mix. Plus a full array of dutch ovens, two cooking surfaces, plenty of storage, etc. ;) . Coffee pot shown to keep on point.
Really up to you based on fragility of location. If there's an amazing place in Hunterdon County, NJ, probably best to keep it on the QT. But, if you find a nice place in the middle of nowhere New Mexico (I've lived in both) probably won't get overrun with overlanders. Here's my contribution...
Grand Canyon Nat'l. Park has great spots on the north and south rims which are accessible by traveling through National Forest land and lands owned by native Americans. We camped at Ruby Point on the south rim a couple of years ago. It's 30 miles of dirt from Grand Canyon Village. We also had...
So sorry about your situation. Driving my Rubicon 2-dr. last fall over about 75 miles of gravel washboard, I passed a kidney stone, so I get it. I bought a Chevy ZR2 with DSSV suspension - it's wonderful. Take one for a test drive on dirt/gravel roads, and then drive over some speed bumps on...
I did the same thing on my JK Rubicon. The FrontRunner is the strongest, most trouble free solution. It also has the most over landing accessory options.
We've got an off-road trailer with a queen sized bed and I can't imagine sleeping in sheets. My wife and I both have quality sleeping bags and mattresses and bring our foam pillows from home. Now with a dog, sheets and things would probably get filthy immediately. We've also got a 6-person...
Very appropriate build choices and thanks for posting. My wife's DD is a '14 JGC Overland Diesel, and we've used it on numerous trips pulling our VMI Offroad trailer. I'm afraid I've taken it places I shouldn't have without better tires, sliders and extra undercarriage protection. When the...
You need a finer grind of coffee. It's not the filter pore size, it's the size of the individual particles of coffee that are affecting strength. With a smaller particle size, the surface area is increased, and more coffee can be extracted. Different coffee beans certainly affect apparent...
The Wells series of Backroads and 4-Wheel Drive Trails books covers this more than adequately. Time is better spent compiling a reference of online and print resources which overlanders can access.
Keeping with the "all things winch" theme, I took my new Hi-lift off my truck today to see if it would store in the small drawer of my Decked system. With a mid-size Chevy Colorado and a short bed, the Decked system comes with one regular size Decked drawer and one narrow one. The narrow one...
And, just when we had the hi-lift jack thing sorted, ARB sticks their nose into the discussion with this. https://expeditionportal.com/arb-releases-new-jack/
Ha! Cool. You should really touch base with Walt Wagner at TAV LLC in Albuquerque. He does training at Kirtland. They did the build-out on my ZR2. https://www.tavllc.com/
Let me know when you get in-state. We won't exactly be next door, but some cool places to visit in between. Check...
