I have a small French press that I use if it’s multiple people. If it’s just me it’s more likely I’ll just make a cup of instant. If I’m not breaking down camp that day I might use the French press and make a few cups to drink throughout the morning.
Started looking at go fast campers, the vagabond campers, etc yesterday while I was at work. For those who don’t know, it basically combines a clamshell RTT with a truck topper. You enter the tent area from the truck bed. I’ll include a picture down below.
Here’s my problem, even the cheapest...
So today I sat down and reflected on the fact that my rig feels done. It has everything I set out to give it. I have running water, rear lights, my awning room, cooler/stove slide out, drawer system. It’s great.
But now I’m bored and I want more! I think I have a problem.
Went with a 15 lb propane tank because it will serve double duty at home. We have a gas grill we use occasionally when the weather is bad so it will work for that and for my camping stove. If I ever get a heater I could use it for that too.
Finished up my kitchen today! Still need to tweak a few things after I have a test run but overall she’s complete! I now have propane, running water, tons of storage, and of course my cooler/stove slide. Some assembly required but it all sets up in about 5 minutes. Really the only annoying part...
We had the same problem with fishing gear. All of our stuff is back home so when we wanted to go the other day we had to buy new gear. We had to go to 3 stores to find a couple of cheap poles and a set of hooks sinkers etc.
Added a removable panel to cover up the back corner. Gives me a full flat load floor. Still planning on hiding my tools and propane tank under there if I go with the 5 gallon tank. Still unsure as I can get a larger tank for cheaper.. I’m not really hurting for space so I might just go with the...
Started working on my electrical and water systems this afternoon. Modified the cap of my 7 gallon water container to accept a barb fitting. Waiting on my water pump to come in so I can get this thing running! Added a fused switch panel. It’s connected directly to a blue sea circuit breaker so I...
Ordered some parts this morning for my electric setup in the bed. 4 fuse distribution block, water pump, heavy gauge wire and ring terminals, vinyl tubing for the water pump, and a couple big in line fuse holders. I’m only going to have maybe 60 amps worth of stuff back there (if everything runs...
Went on a short adventure this weekend to celebrate my promotion! Just explored a few new service roads local to me. Still no camping :( maybe I’ll get to test my new setup in a couple weeks.
We have Spotify premium so we have a few playlists downloaded for trips when we don’t have enough cell service to stream. I loved Sirius when I had a free year of it, but I still didn’t want to pay for it when I already pay for Spotify.
Sun came out for a little so this afternoon I decided to mount my traction boards and shovel to the roof rack. Hopefully they don’t see much use! Everything is mounted pretty low profile so I’m actually seeing a lot less wind noise with this setup than my old rack. Definitely glad I built my own...
Drawer fronts painted! Since I’ve got just about everything on my list done now minus my gas and water setups I think I may do a walk around video tomorrow with the whole camp setup.
