Would love to get a closer look at the GFC when you get it. There is someone who climbs at Asana occasionally who has one that I have seen on their Tacoma and it does look pretty solid.
We were sold on getting one until they raised the price and now we are leaning back towards a bed rack and...
We drove out to Inyo Craters the last time we were down that way and thought they were pretty cool. It seemed like there was more trails around the area.
I’m not sure if they have started to receive snow yet for the year. It has been dry here in Idaho and our roads even up high are still clear.
I am intrigued by the idea of a capable electric off-road vehicle to begin with. The torque from independent electric motors should match well out off-road requirements and I like the added touches like adjustable height suspension, integrated locking bed cover (albeit weird angle), and built-in...

We were in City of Rocks in August to climb. It's such a cool spot and the rock climbing available there is world-class. There is also a nice commercial hotspring available as well in nearby Almo.
We were amazed at how much snow there still was up high in the Sierras earlier this month. I haven't been to Silverton since April, but I know they're still clearing out the passes there and some of the roads aren't even going to open this year from the avalanche debris. Hoping to get down there...
I have the same stove and just used it this weekend attached via the hose from Camp Chef. It does still use the metal arm with built-in regulator. It does feel a flimsy, but has worked fine. They are also available and in-stock on Amazon (Amazon.com: Camp Chef 5 Foot Bulk Tank Hose Adapter for...
Today I got the Geolandar G015 255/75R17 tires installed on the stock rims with no lift or level. It rides great on the pavement and I couldn't get any rubbing to occur on the way home. Looking forward to getting these new tires on to dirt.
We headed out last week to see a friend of ours in Sacramento. We took the route out of Idaho heading through the Owyhees, across the bottom corner of Oregon, through Nevada, and into California through the Truckee/Tahoe area. This trip was mostly on the tarmac, but we always try to find areas...
I went with a GMC Canyon over the Tacoma for several reasons including price, ride comfort, and back seat leg room. I think it will be perfectly capable for overlanding purposes. Those characteristics for me were important as it will be used for long road trips at interstate speeds in addition...
