Welcome! I'm at Recker and the Red Mountain Freeway, so not too far away. We we're thinking of driving up to Four Peaks this weekend for a nice easy cruise. If your looking for a quick little trip, I recommend Bulldog Canyon. You need a permit, but they're free and you can get it quickly...
For stuff like meet-ups, I can do evenings during the week as well. Sundays are good, but I could also do Monday evenings.
Back in Michigan, Monday nights were our biggest turnout for Jeep nights at the pub. Must have worked with people's schedules the best, I guess.

Unfortunately, I'm pretty much confined to the weekends. Also, we just moved here from Michigan and are moving into a new house next week, so I guess I may be a little limited in the short term. However, my son and I are very interested, so we'll try our best to work around it.

I would say it could be done in 2wd no problem. You just need a little clearance and some time. The Apache Trail portion is doable in just about any car, most of the time.

I highly recommend taking Four Peaks Road from west to east and then making the loop back on Apache Trail. It'll take a good 4-5 hours and don't do Four Peaks if the weather is bad. There will be water crossings that could be significant if there is rain.

This sounds great. I'm new to the area and I'm familiar with any of these trails or landmarks. Would an unlifted 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4x4 on 32s be good enough for the journey?

Sounds great! I'm driving from Michigan with my son and our dog, making a couple stops in Ouray, Moab, and Monument Valley, then arriving in Mesa on August 1st. After we get settled a bit, we'll be ready to hit some trails!

Unfortunately, I'm confined to overlanding on the weekends. I'm an 8 to 5 M-F stiff, which means crowded trails for me. [emoji45]

I'd be interested as well. I'm moving to Mesa from Michigan next week and would love to do the CK run with others since I'm in a 2011 Jeep WK2 and could benefit from some guidance.

Well, some of us feel the same about Michigan winters. We've had a couple of bad ones that really wore me down. I guess I'm kinda screwed either way!
