Got some time with the maps. Entering Rothrock near the town of Colerain...on Colerain rd and then exiting on Krise Valley Road.
Got the route planned and just a few spots to be sure are open for travel.
Be back in a bit.
The threads for the trips I will be using this full figured truck for.

Maybe this will explain better
Starting in by Spruce Creek. Going to site 2 then site one. Then across Rothrock hitting sites 3 to 5 ( site 7 and 8 are the other direction and 6 may get passed up if time isn't on my side) and then taking Crowfield Rd to 322. Where then I will switch to the...
No. That is the hiking trail, correct? And I lost interest in the MABDR, except for the one section they list as experienced riders.
I can give you each road I plan to drive, which is my next step when i have time.
I will be going from campsite to campsite through Rothrock. When i hit the...
I also need to figure a way to incorporate the kayaks and bikes.
I have a hitch hauler for the bikes. I have contemplated a roof rack for the kayaks.
I usually haul the kayaks above the toolbox and bed cover...but don't like just using the tie down straps
In this pic the bikes are actually...
We love going to the SkyWalk.
Have you done the hike to the bottom?
It is a bit rough. My son loved it...I thought I would die, but had to be strong for him lol
Awesome jeep build. It is great enjoying the outdoors with the kids. Glad to see your family enjoys it too
So, started a planning thread for Moshannan State Forest aswell.

So, got the email sent to receive info about motorized camping here.
This will also be on the list to explore.
More info to come...if anyone has experience here please post.
My thread about going from Rothrock to Bald Eagle. I got the connection made.
But, I noticed last night I can scout most of the 8 campsites on my way to Bald Eagle.
Trough Creek one #8 is in the opposite direction, but I have already been there...just didn't realize it til after I slowed...
@Road I have been cautiously looking at this route.
I passed over looking into it cause at first glance I thought the same thing you did...this is for bikes.
But, and I can only attest for the local one to me, this is just a route taking in state roads and forest service roads.
They...
Well, I become less impressed with the MABDR the more I look at it.
I guess the good part is we know those roads are passable.
In order for me to hit it in Mcalvys Fort i will be quite a bit off my original course.
NOTE: Google maps seems to use an avg speed of 20mph on the Forest roads.
I...
Remeber... a 2wd will go better in 2wd than a 4wd.
You do not have the front axle and driveshaft to push. You don't have the added weight of the transfer case.
You also know you have to keep momentum and momentum is what keeps you from getting stuck.
I have had lots of 2wd over the years...
So, I got the path through Rothrock to Bald Eagle figured out.
Will take me 30ish minutes together to my entrance near spruce creek.
Then it is almost all offroad to Bald eagle.
Hopefully in the next couple weekends I can get here.
So, there are 2 roads that kinda run parallel to each other. Will have to check into what I want to see and adjust the route as I decide.
But for now I got a route to start my kill 3 birds with one stone tour.
There is lot of Native American history in this area...so this will be interesting...
