You are invited to come and join the conversation as we plan out 2025! If you know a great trip destination or weekend route let us know! Our goal is about 1 trip a month and day trips throughout the year.
Jan 11th, 2025 5pm
See the details in the invite and be sure to RSVP if you can make it! Bring the family!

I’m looking forward to meeting everyone!

Bring your calendars(so we all remember the dates the same )! I definitely have a few trip ideas locked and loaded, most longer trips 3+ full days but definitely need some shorter ideas. I'm happy to help plan routes if you just want to have locations in mind!

I won't be able to make it to the dinner, but it would be great if you guys could spend some time in southern Idaho.

I'd love to be able to meet up at some point this year.

Friendly reminder to be gathering your ideas for next year.
and again, even if it's only a destination or a particular area, I can help plan the route as needed.
for some inspiration I have a few ideas for possible trips (lots of ideas in Canada lol and 3+ day trips... but I know that's not a possibility for everyone)

Frenchman Coulee/Omak area (Snow Camping Jan/Feb/March)
Ghost River Valley, AB, Canada (3 day)
Whipsaw Trail, BC, Canada (3 day)
Farnham Glacier, BC, Canada (3day)
Flint Creek Range, Montana (2-3 day)
Hells Canyon area, Oregon, Idaho, Washington (2-3 days)
Crevice Fire Lookout BC, Canada (2-3 days)
Racehorse pass, Alberta/BC, Canada (3 days)

For our bigger trips
Steens Mts/Alvord Desert/Leslie Gulch/Succor Creek (4-5 day)
Moab (5+ days)
Wyoming BDR (5+days)
Oregon BDR(5+days)
Wyoming portion of Continental Divide Trail (5+days)

My wife and I are planning on doing the Oregon BDR in late June of next year. We plan to hit Bend the day before Expo starts, and will resume the bdr on that following Monday. That also happens to be my birthday weekend. Just saying....

Nice! My parents used to live just north of there. Been wanting to go at least once if only for a day.

I'd like to go to Northwest Overland Rally this year. Been in 22 and 23 and really enjoyed it, it's be cool to have a few folks to camp with.

Not been to the NWOR yet. That would be fun as well.

Anyone have any experience at setting up zoom or virtual meeting that we can send out to folks that aren't able to attend but still either want to add their ideas and blackout dates, or just want to hear the discussion. I have a webcam I can bring if needs be.

I figure Dave would post up the dates and known locations immediately, but I'm hoping with our group size we might have a couple months where we have a couple trip options .

I have about 19 ideas... definitely don't need to lead on these... so if anyone wants to lead one/organize the rally point I'm 100% ok with that.
9: 3 day trip ideas (meaning leaving early Friday Morning before 9)
3: 2 day trip ideas (leaving after work Friday or very early Sat)
7: 4+ day trip ideas

Most are new areas, (save Ghost River Valley (from the Canada Trip), and the Frenchman Coulee/Omak area.)
Most already mapped out, but most also require our winter to stay like it is... or for us to do them June-Nov.

Frenchman Coulee/Omak area (3 Day) possible Snow Camping Jan/Feb/March 100% Mapped out/ran route in May
Ghost River Valley, AB, Canada (3 day) 100% Mapped out/Ran route in October (this will skip Banff, to allow more time in Ghost River Valley and surrounding area)
Whipsaw Trail, BC, Canada (3 day) 90% Mapped out/ hoping to scout before hand
Farnham Glacier, BC, Canada (3day) 90% Mapped out/hoping to scout before hand
Flint Creek Range, Montana (2-3 day)90% Mapped out/hoping to scout before hand
Hells Canyon area, Oregon, Idaho, Washington (3-4 days) Mapped out/familiar with area but not been on route
Crevice Fire Lookout BC, Canada (2-3 days) Mapping in progress/ no experience with route
Racehorse pass, Alberta/BC, Canada (3 days) Mapping in progress/ familiar with area but not been on route
Mt Hood/Central Cascades of Oregon(3-4 days) Mapping in Progress/Familiar with area but not been on route

Steens Mts/Alvord Desert/Leslie Gulch/Succor Creek (4-5 day)100% Mapped out/ Familiar with area but not been on route
Moab (5+ days)Mapping in progress/ Familiar with area but not been on route
Wyoming BDR (5+days)Mapping in progress/ no experience with route
Oregon BDR(5+days)Mapping in progress/ Familiar with area but not been on route
Wyoming portion of Continental Divide Trail (5+days) 100% Mapped out (Kent Reynolds route) / no experience with route

Previous Routes: in case any wanted to repeat one or two
Snow Camp In Montana
Dug Bar
Whiskey Rock
Frenchman Coulee/Omak Area
Flathead River via Blue Lake
Ghost Town
Magruder
Banff/Ghost River
Death Valley

I'll have a few trips mapped out and ready to share as well. Sounds like we have several 3+ day trips, so I'm focusing on simple overnight trips so we have options.

So far, I have two trips in mind.

1) Beach camping on Lake Koocanusa
2) Porcupine Lake (Kaniksu National Forest) - pit stops at Lunch Peak Lookout and Char Falls
