Yep! Its also neat seeing how other people solve similar problems .
Welcome! Danville eeh? I have fam up in that area and I spent a lot of time riding bikes around Mt Diablo, great place!
Totally!! Are you down for big day trips and coffee?
for trucks... I have a wrangler and my partner has...
Awesome! I've heard a lot of positive things about the trailhawks, that should be a fun little car! Have you had a lot of experience with it off road or stuff yet?
If you haven't... doing a quick run down to Big Sur for a day trip and exploring some of the dirt roads down there could be a nice...
Had a super uneventful weekend... did a oil change on the jeep and I finally got around to replacing this stupid PCV valve on the motor. Oil consumption was getting bad so it was time.
The job wasn't to bad to do, read lots of horror stories on replacing it tho, mostly because of access to the...
Us south bay folk are around. I've noticed that its really hard getting frequent 4x4 meetups in the bay area setup for whatever reason. It seemed like it was easier 5 or 6 years ago to get interested people together to talk out trip ideas, pull some topo maps/laptop with Gaia and pick a place...
I'm interested... I need to check my schedule and my partners/kids to see if anything else is going on. I'll update the rally point thinger once i know!
Picked up a transmission mount to add to the pile of maintenance parts for the wifes Sierra while my JKU got an oil change and a new PCV valve.
Hoping the new front springs for the Sierra's coilovers get here this week...
For a wedding gift my wife gave me one of the Coleman grill/stove...
Totally! My day job deals with the engineering and production side of space stuff, so the trucks are a nice distraction from the stresses of that environment where you have to have paperwork and design reviews n all that stuff before doing anything with our various vehicles there. With the...
Anyone have any preferences or ideas for tonneau cover racks?
Our GMC Sierra as an ARE hard tonneau cover over the bed and we're (ok, I'm) looking at rack options for crap we don't want in the bed or on the bedslide, like recovery gear, trashbag, mountain bike/box or two etc... I've looked at...
I made this map for my dad a couple years ago before we did a quick overnight trip down there. Going up on a weekday is a better bet for getting a little peace and quiet as that place gets packed on the weekends.
I've always done five tire rotations, tires are expensive and if I can get another 15k out of a set of tires i'm glad to have it. I find it helps keep directional wear and cupping mostly in check.
So... I'm in the process of gathering parts for a bit of mad-science for my partners truck, got two of these on order, some LCA coilovers from Atomic Fab, some bayonet upper shock mounts.. Also have some 800lb springs on order for these coilovers...
I still need to source limit straps, and...
So, i'll prob spare you all the details of YET another JKU but just give you a run down of the build of it so far...
I bought it new in 2012, after our fam outgrew my XJ, I ended up picking up a new JKU with zero options, and lemme tell you, it was not an easy task to find one. A few months...
Howdy, new member here... One of my mtb and "hey lets go do dumb stuff" buddies recomended this group, and so far it looks pretty cool! Nice to meet ya all!
