t has been a long time since I updated this thread. Where do I start about my car?
Not too long ago, the traction boards were reinstalled onto my basket. Also, the Diode Dynamics flood clear pods and put in Drive in amber in hope to see when it is foggy or dense snow in the mountains. I really...
I have a good amount of experience driving my Outback on the beach but up in the Pacific Northwest. I did it when it was stock as well as with my lift on it. When I did it, I mainly did it where the sand was not deep or super soft so that it was not likely to get stuck. I am not saying that...
Congrats on your new Outback. I have thoroughly enjoyed my Outback for the last decade. Mine has been modded a bit. It has been an excellent vehicle and pretty reliable.
Congrats on your new camping rig. I have been camping in my 2014 Outback which is lifted 1.5 (yes mine is taller than the Wilderness but the Wilderness beats mine with ground clearance I believe) and has full skid plates from Rallitek as well as rear overload springs. The overload springs help...
This year's Overland Expo in Loveland was an absolute blast. I have already ordered and paid for my ticket for next year's. If OB needs a bit of help, feel free to ask. Otherwise, I will look forward to attending and meeting other OB members. I will be there the entire weekend. :)
I have several A/T tires on my overlander, which is a Subaru. I have used the following:
Geolandars G015 A/Ts-quiet and do not take away much gas mileage.
Cooper Discoverers A/T3W 4Ss - Quiet and there are several different loads with this tire
Nitto Nomad Grapplers-quiet and I have taken...
Thank you.
Your 2017 looked good as well. My next one might be a Wilderness edition but something about my 2014 won't let go since I drove it off the lot in 2013.
Very nice.
I have shown my overlander but it is not the only Subaru that I own. I also have a '20 Legacy XT which is my daily driver and helping to keep the mile low on the older Subaru. This one is not heavily modded. Just an engine skid plate from Rallitek and a lip.
I do enjoy both of...
Thank you for the compliment. The car still drives like it should when it was stock.
I know the whole crew at Rallitek. They are a good group of guys who are very knowledgeable and stand by their products. They help me tremulously to help convert a very capable vehicle and take it further...
I have tested my Nitto Nomad Grapplers in some mild snow conditions. So far, I am very happy with them but I am hoping to try them out in deeper snow than a few inches. These tires have also been good in mud, dirt, and rock.
I usually open my windows and put screens in order to get fresh air while keeping the bugs out. Plus I use a small fan that is powered by a usb and power bank to keep me cool. In terms of sleeping bag, I lay it on my air mattress and sleep on top of it while using a blanket to sleep.
My trail buddy is a rescued Whippet-mix named Willow. She is originally from Kauai (Hawaii) before she found her furever home in Oregon. Now she is in Colorado. She loves to car camp with me.
