Very nice, I just ordered that battery tray for our truck, and I'm starting to work on the dual batt setup for it as well. I'm planning on bringing ours up to TP2 spec, which has been an adventure in getting it spec'd out and figuring out the schematics and whatnot.
Seconded.
Sometimes filtering through the chaff can be a chore but in general there are lot of good guides and examples that are a lot easier to find.
It lowers the entry point for basic and not-so-basic maintenance for a lot of folks because it breaks stuff down in to manageable bits, allows...
I totally second this comment about having a mobile ham rig installed in ones truck, it makes a MASSIVE difference. Our trucks are fantastic faraday cages that do a super effective job at grounding RF. Even getting an external antenna can help a lot but having a 50watt radio and a big 1/2 or 5/8...
Yeah... I had surgery on it like 18yrs ago for some torn cartilage, it wasn't the same after that but i could live with it. Then a few years ago I dislocated it on a mountain bike ride, and well... it keeps popping out.
Will do! Its actually going inside the bed of the truck... We have a bed slide, so this will tuck between that and the side of the bed, against the wheel well. The shorter end is so we can wrestle the jug down to it and tip it in...
Regearing to 4.56 or 4.88 would help there, less gunning it in those situations and you'll crawl over stuff easier. It'll be easier on your trans as well...
I'm about the go on the hunt for a set of 4.10 gears for our GMC and I'm going to replace the G80 with... something just not sure what yet.
Hey, thanks for this write up. I've thought about doing something like this for a while but lazyness tends to get the better of me. However, Its kind of a kick for me to get a digital setup as I have quite a few HT's floating around...
Wooooof. Glad to hear it missed it then... FWIW i think escaping an angle grinder with all your digits/limbs/bits intact and just having stitches is pretty much the best outcome possible. I'm very glad to hear it wasn't worse.
I generally don't take my stuff into a shop unless a job involves tools I don't have or requires taking stuff apart to the point where a secure shop is needed. I had to take my jeep to a shop to do the gears in it because of a lack of tools and I didn't have space to take the axles fully apart.
I always have one. Its my main tool for spitting firewood and dealing with "light" deadfall. Plus its relatively safe and VERY effective for wearing out the kid. I also carry a small cordless chainsaw and a bow saw. They're similar tools for similar jobs, but there are some times when having...
Got a bunch of projects finishes up on both trucks... We got two of these boxes finished for the back of the truck, we're still working on coating them and then getting em installed but it's nice to have em done and making that odd bit of space more usable in the back. Don't mine
I also picked...
