I am actually not that content with my approach angle. This is a pretty new Subie (I saved up money as a kid and a teen for a nice car some day) so this is my pride and joy... but I've already pulled the plastic bumper cover off more times than I can count, and done my fair share of body work on...
2018 Forester XT with a few mods; a dual battery setup, two 7" 51W LED's, DIY 80/20 aluminum roof rack, DIY axe carrier, Gorilla mudflaps, X-BULL traction boards, and my favourite part...
A desk, cabinet, stove and even the kitchen sink! :)
Thanks for the tips; I'll head over to the Subie Registry!
Regarding towing; are you thinking of these straps?
or more like this?
I'm also considering replacing the "5mph" bumper with a winch mount that includes recovery points, sort of like this:
Thoughts?
Thank you! I love having the slideout table; it's great for organizing photography gear, cooking on, eating off of... you name it. Very versatile. Speaking of progress pics:

The Initial Buildout

I too was watching a video on the Iveco Daily. Really cool vehicle, I can only imagine all the different builds for that bed area. Would be great to see these here in Canada. The same could be said for the GAZ Vepr/NEXT:

Hello OverlandBound!
This will be my thread for listing and explaining my current and future mods to my Subaru Forester '18 XT. Stock, it runs with a 2.0L FA20F Boxer engine with 250 hp, 258 ftlbs of torque...

As a photographer who has used all manner of gear - everything from 16mm Bolex...
Yeah, that doesn't sound like a bad idea. Have HAM strictly for emergencies in the meantime, until I can complete all the proper training/certification.
Yeah, you summed up my questions pretty well. Indeed, I was mostly thinking HAM or EPIRB for emergencies, as I was planning on getting a CB from a friend. That actually fell through, so I really have no incentive to chose CB over something else now...
From some brief reading tonight, it seems...
Great to see others share my mix of passions; photography and overlanding. They do go well together though! One of my favourite shots from one of my first "big" adventures...
Yeah, good point. I'm figuring the CB would mostly be for contact between those camping and traveling with me in their own vehicle. People I know, basically. A lot of the Crown land around my province is so sparsely populated (at least in my experience) that I'm guessing an EPIRB/ PLB would make...
Just wanted to say; very useful thread, especially regarding GMRS in Canada. I've been contemplating what comms to get for my overlanding adventures (I'm fairly new to most of this). I've got a CB which I still need to buy an antenna for, so I think that's a good choice to begin with? I've also...
