Good preventive maintenance goes a LONG way when it comes to having to carry spare parts. Inspect, catch and replace worn/common components before hitting the trail. It's mind boggling how many people just drive their vehicles into the back-country without giving it a complete once over...

Have a big trip throughout the Eastern Sierra's end of July. Most of the trip is mapped out, planned and ready to go but I've been stuck on finalizing a camping spot for a somewhat large group that's not somewhere bland and works with getting to the following days trail...
I run a single 27F Yellow Top Optima and have never hit the voltage cut off.
Although our style of camping is driving throughout the day until finding a spot late in the afternoon, then leaving first thing in the morning.
