    Fridge advise

Most 12v fridges are going to have a voltage cut-off to prevent draining the battery. All the name brands and popular units are going to have that feature.

    Photography

Years ago, wasn't all that into photography but I did want to start capturing pictures of the night sky. Bought my first camera and a fast wide angle and started snapping away. Realized there was something about that feel/sound of a shutter being released and got addicted. M5 with the 18-150mm...

    LED lighting Q's

Like TrexTerra said, be careful about mounting LED lights on the roof/pillar as the spill can illuminate the hood and dust on the windshield making it hard to see and keep focus. If you spend the coin and get a name brand light (Baja Designs), a spot beam can be focused enough within the optics...

Off-Road Lighting... What do you run? Why?

Baja Designs. I started off cheap with China LED bars. But was never happy with them. They were bright, but light was scattered and useless. Got a set of Baja Designs Squadrons for the front bumper and they blew away my cheapo' 30" bar. I saw the light - literally. Since then I've replaced...

    Battery Recommendations?

I've put a Optima Yellow Top in every vehicle and boat I've owned. Until one fails me, I'll continue to do so.

ExploreDesert: Alabama Hills - Laurel Lakes - Mono Lake - Bodie - Coyote Flats

It was a really neat place and would be a awesome base-camp for a larger group or with kids but since it was just Dave and I we decided on something a bit more....primitive. We spotted a prime location at the 32E301/32E301A intersection that offered a great view and flat dirt parking area. After...

ExploreDesert: Alabama Hills - Laurel Lakes - Mono Lake - Bodie - Coyote Flats

It was now becoming later in the day and we needed to get into the general area in which we wanted to camp. The original plan was to camp at Funnel Lake but that went out the window when we saw vehicles parked within the trees while up on the narrow switchback road by Coyote Lake. A few other...
