Well, the popularity of the hobby hit again.
This time it is Loyalsock state forest.
They’re now alternating what sites are open. Jan 1 to June 30 even sites are open. July 1 to Dec 31 odd numbered sites are open.

Looks like site 51 on the lizard map is gonna be the site we choose for our trip. Listed by the DCNR as 510, it is just a pull off with access for a small trailer.
It is near a vista and a great hiking trail to another vista. Looks like we can make an easy loop hike from the site and back...

I do not know how close you are to those areas, but if close, driver over to the office, introduce yourself and what you are looking to do. At least in PA the foresters, Rangers and office personnel are eager to help

Like @John Bishop said...alot of this route is paved. Not sure it lives up their claim of the best unpaved roads from TN to NY.
