So, I got out and scouted this area. There was actually more dirt than I expected.
We ended up spending the night (motel with pool, real Overlander stuff) then headed out again in the morning.
On the trip out we connected Rothrock to Buchanan to Forbes.
We usually camp with our camper, so...
There are plenty of backroad and some dirt, even a 4x4 High Clearance trail connecting the Mt. Davis section of Forbes to the OhioPyle area.
Some purple lizards to check off, and there at the bottom is the entrance to Savage River State Forest
Hoping, Wishing, Praying, having a seance that I can pull off a road trip tomorrow.
I have a few of the additional routes through the planning stage and into the scouting phase.
The family wants to head out towards Pittsburgh this long weekend, and I saw it as an opportunity to scout some of...
Got a few short drives in. Did some ice scouting...all clear!
Finished my adventure pack. I am ready to get many miles on the tires and much more Pennsylvania dirt on my boots. And many nights camping in the forest.
Looking to get further into the forest than Pennsylvania allows vehicles...

Lots and lots of trees down. Most where cut away from the roads...looks like many more thinking of taking the fall.
Would...
My son also got a telescope from Santa. We have had nothing but cloud cover since.
We did get to look at the moon and Jupiter.
We use the Sky Safari App to see what to check out and for a guide to where to look.
We have always star gazed...but as he nears 10 years of age...he is much more...

Someone else makes their opinion based on their experience.
The fact is no tire size is going to limit you on overlanding...

Was a fun drive up with the snow. But, too foggy to enjoy it. Will be back on a clear day.
