I swapped in the IPF lens and used regular Sylvania bulbs. The difference was immediately noticeable. The stock lens was horrible in comparison. An improvement over stock lighting is money well spent.
Yes, to all of the above. Get the kids outdoors early. It will just become a regular part of what you do. It will teach them independence and responsibility. The dirt is free, which is a good thing considering how much of it they will wear! We have three boys, age 11 and under. Our boys...
I stuck an old Land Rover emblem on with thin sheet magnet material. It didn't move.
I used 3M tape to stick the emblem to the magnet, then stuck the magnet to the vehicle. It stuck out a wee bit further than normal, but it was easy to remove when I sold the truck.
For my dream rig I'd be looking at a 70 Series Land Cruiser or a Land Rover Defender 110. I love the character of the D110, love the reliability of the LC.

Now, I'm definitely not a professional so please consider this with that in mind...
I'm a big fan of carrying as little camera gear as possible to get the job done when I'm out and about. I have a 70-300, a 50mm, and an 18-125 - but if I can do it all (or most of it, at least) with one lens...
