Update on the canopy. I went with the OB group buy on the overland vehicle systems awning. I mounted it in a way that the 90 degree arm will rest up against the back of the roof rack. No pics of it deployed yet.
At the last show they knew at check in. I don't know yet. Whoever set's it up can post a map. I applied to volunteer. If they choose me hopefully I can.

I did the overland experience at Expo East. It was excellent and I would do them again. The driving classes were indispensable to real life driving. Navigation classes exposed me to enough new information I now use what I learned to create tracks, follow tracks and change things as I go. I met...
You won't be locked in and can come and go as you please. Leave your canopy, tent whatever and come back later. Many people leave to get supplies or take driving classes in their rigs. The onsite camping is an experience in itself. Don't miss it.
Overland Bound will have our own dedicated camping area on site. Please join us there. We had about 20 rigs at expo east and it was a party every night. We had multiple gas fire pits, group meals and great information sharing, rig walk-arounds and more. We all made friends and had a great time...
You might want to consider what is being used in the group your running with. I have a CB and never used it. I have cheap FRS walkie talkies I've used in every group run. apparently the first 22 chanels are the same as GMRS.
