This is my rather childlike attempt at a representation of something along the lines of what's been suggested so far although at this scale the river and nice rolling green lane that follow the valley are better imagined ;)
I've got all the bits I need to make my own and they've been sat in the garage for about a year. It's on the "winter to do" list. They do certainly seem like they'll be incredibly useful.
If you are "getting sick of" your current truck and the things you have to do to get it where you want then I guess you've already kind of made your decision?
I suppose if you are after something you can get parts for more easily and gets you what you want from a rig quicker, more reliably and...
Do those solar showers really have enough pressure for it to feel cleansing? I always imagined it would just feel like water coming out of a tube connected to a bag. Is there more magic to it or is it no good at hiding what it is?
Great writeup Brien.
I generally go for wipes but sometimes if you've been bogged down or doing recovery all day then something a little more comprehensive would be more welcome so I might put together a little kit like this.
The rest of cars is so electronic these days it's silly not to trust 4x4 response systems actuators. As others have said it's only the engagement and controls that are electronic really.
Having said that I'm replacing the Terrain Response control module on my Discovery this weekend, perhaps if...
I've seen some clever setups with small 12v compressors in the spare space which I think is quite a good use for it. Water is also quite a good call as it can be insulated easily and that's quite a big space even if it's just for a half size.
The Wayfarer is only about 6 miles isn't it? If it's the same one I remember. Happy Valley you are right on though, in comparison it's massive - a good one I'd forgotten thanks for refreshing my memory!. I think Bomber Lane has been closed for a bit now though following a landslide but I haven't...
I remember reading a few years ago in one of the GLASS magazines that the longest public Green Lane in the UK is between 8 and 9 miles, Rutland Rigg in Yorkshire IIRC.
A rather pathetic distance by all measures :(
I love mine (Disco / LR3) because it's a vehicle I can do absolutely anything in. Strap all the stuff to the roof, fill the back with kit and I know it will get me anywhere that I'll ever be likely to need to go and over obstacles that much more "dedicated" vehicles will struggle with.
I can...
I think with LEDs you get what you pay for.
A buddy of mine dropped quite a chunk of money on a set for his Disco as he didn't want to upgrade to the Xenon's. Professionally fitted and adjusted his LED's are almost exactly the same colour and throw as my Xenon lights and should hopefully last...
