Tire Upgrade first - Nitto or Cooper?

I considered those, but they are a little conical for my taste on a sequoia - which has a lot of rounded lines. I liked the updated 5-spoke look a little better.

Tire Upgrade first - Nitto or Cooper?

These tires are only an inch bigger, slightly wider, more agrressive tread. So I dont expect to see much of a difference. Before the lift I got about 21-25 highway, and combined driving about 14-15. AFter the liftI got about 21-25 highway, and combined driving about 14-15. I love this truck...

    Handheld Ham Radio Adivce

Im thinking more as a cautionary note than pointing at anybody. I have seen some forums where the established hams really laid it on thick. A couple right here on OB. I like to think of this group as inclusionary, and I hope we can maintain that in all our discussions. Sorry to offend anyone...

    Handheld Ham Radio Adivce

We should never be such equipment snobs that we run people off. Its a hard area to understand at first, and we need to make it easier, not harder.

    Mobile install in Sequoia

Photos follow. The wiring setup for now (temp) is wire-nutted to a pigtail 12V plug. I did this so I could work on antenna options and programming the radio, which is difficult on this model. The perm wiring setup is awaiting parts I ordered. The wiring for the radio will run to a 6-fuse...

    HAM/GMRS/CB Channel preferences?

Good effort! With respect to repeaters, the VHF bands are more active than the 70cm bands, typically. The range is greater, too. Your analysis of handheld range, CB range, etc is pretty accurate. I see ham as a preferred alternative, followed by GMRS (repeaters) and then CB. CB is probably...
