30mm T slot bed Thoughts and suggestions?

Do any of you have experience with extruded aluminum T slot? I want to build a light weight bed frame for my truck bed. I have a 6.5’ bed so there is plenty of room. I will make a top out of 1/2” plywood with a 1”x3” poplar surround with soft edges to hold the pad in place. The reason for...

Looking for Threaded Screw Mounts/Project Feedback. . .

I’ll bet you could find a lot of folks on here to buy them up. That looks like a great size for a roof rack too.

Looking for Threaded Screw Mounts/Project Feedback. . .

I want to see the finished project for sure! McMaster Carr has an awesome app, I like it more then the webpage. If you search “T Slot” you will find all kinds of track stuff. 80/20 is a vet owned extruded aluminum T slot company as well.

    sPOD vs Switch Pros

I just looked at the 9100, some cool design features and I love the control box size under the hood, the only thing I would worry about is the connection points to the accessories. If I am tracking right you need to use a separate distribution block for all of your accessories essentially...

    My first aid kit

I would add the typical individually packed aspirin, alieve, anti diarrhea, Benadryl, triple antibiotic, sting relief, Sam splint, tourniquet, Israeli bandage, more nitrile gloves. Great start! The boo boo kit stuff is what gets used 90% of the time.

Looking for Threaded Screw Mounts/Project Feedback. . .

McMaster Carr, 1/2” aluminum threaded pipe and pipe flange. The flange will help distribute the pressure on the thin bottom of that case. Each flange will have 4 through bolts. Use large fender washers on the onside of the case to prevent tear out. Should be about $100 depending on the length...

    sPOD vs Switch Pros

I absolutely love my sPOD set up. I had their first gen system in my Jeep LJ and now have the newer one with Bluetooth and the touch screen in my F150. If I was doing it over I think I would do the HD buttons instead of the screen. The system is just plain easy and what is really important to...

Camp Poop (sorry for the bluntness but I want to know)

Another vote for the pett cleanwaste system, it’s been used by my family for a couple years.

    California warnings

I’d bet the RF and other stuff in the air at your home is more of a worry than your tent or sleeping bag. I wouldn’t worry about it.

Al skids on steel frame corrosion

I have RCI powder coated skid plates on the way for my F150. I’d like to make sure I don’t have galvanic corrosion. Should I add an insulator of some sort between the frame and skids or will the powder coat and paint on the frame be enough. The reason I went with aluminum is mainly weight...

Best Treatment To Prevent Rust On Undercarriage?

Fluid film is great, I’ve used POR15 on multiple classic car and Jeep restorations and had great success. Eastwood rust encapsulator is a really good product also. I would strongly not recommend using and kind of bedliner/undercoat as it just seals in the rust and allows it to keep working.

    Ford Excursion build up

Check out front runner for a rack system, I think you’d like what they have and they can make one fit your “white whale”. That’s an awesome truck! If you are going to 35’s you may concider regearing, the tired V10 is going to have to really work once you load it up and then add larger tires...

First Aid Questions and Suggestions Post Here

This is an awesome post, well done. One thing I would recommend is investing in a blue training tourniquet that you know will never go into the field. It is advised to not stress a TQ that you may use in the field as you can cause a failure when you need it most. While I’ve used a TQ more...

    Army surplus uses??

There is a lot of great surplus out there but you have to be really careful. A lot of surplus stores are filled with import knock offs these days. Besides ammo cans I have a humvee succor jack that is awesome. The sleep system and goretex ecwcs jacket are super bargains.

Grizzly Coolers...........anyone have first hand experience

While I own a yeti a friend has a grizzly. They work the same and both are very high quality. You can’t go wrong with either. The dimensions on the yeti fit my specific needs which ultimately drove my decision. The orcas and pelicans are top notch too.

    Flashlights

I’m a sure fire guy. I’ve used them for 20 years and never had a failure. EDC, weapons, and SAR gear, they just plain work. I also like the cr123 battery for its shelf life and resilience to cold.

Roof Top Tent on a Topper Shell

I’ve been looking and can’t find the picture that was posted on this forum but it’s a frame made of black aluminum extrusions that is bolted to the inside top of cap and goes to the floor of the bed relieving the stress put on the bed rails.
