Today I had some new wheels installed, once the rubber wears I’m going to put 35”s on, currently stock size. I also installed a bed rug, I’ll be living in the truck for two weeks next month and my knees can’t take the rough spray liner. Hopefully this will be more comfortable in the winter...
I wanted to get some more air moving in my truck and keep the bugs away but I couldn’t find a quality commercial option for this. I want to be able to keep the tailgate open for the summer months. This is just prototype V1.0 but I found a $20 mosquito net on amazon, cut it in half and taped...
Love seeing your build! I’ve got a 2015 3.5 eco crew cab w 6.5’ box and love it!
Turbos going out is so overblown. Don’t worry about it and keep trucking.
Finished the bed/drawer system finally. 3 coats of Watco black walnut Danish oil and 3 coats of oil based urethane. I’m happy with the turn out and feel like this will last longer than my truck!
Size large MSR groundhogs are my go to tent stake. Big enough to deadman, Light enough to backpack. I have the MSR snow stakes but haven’t had to use them much.
Not a big update. I finally had some time to work on the drawer system. Today I built the drawer boxes and installed the slides. I need to get back to the wood supply shop for some 1/2” Baltic birch to make the drawer faces. I so installed lashing points on the top to keep my sleeping pad in...
I had jar bumpers and sliders on my LJ and loved them. They took a beating and held up. They are based about an hour from me so I picked my stuff up. The owner gave me a tour of the factory and offered to help install if I needed it. Awesome company!
I’d like to show you how to properly rehandle a tool. This method is not the fastest but it will be effective for a lifetime of use. I restore vintage axes and hatchets as a side business, I’ve done well over 100 tools with zero repairs from a loose head. I make my own handles sometimes...
I’ve done a lot with my 2015 f150. Here’s my build thread: https://www.overlandbound.com/forums/threads/2015-overland-sar-f150.9941/
Just about the only thing I’m not happy with is the roof rack. I’ll likely be moving to a front runner in the future.
i have a goal zero yeti plus a second matched battery connected via Anderson plugs. I’d like to run power from my SPOD under the hood to the truck bed to charge my GZ system while driving. Solar is not a viable option where I will be most of the time.
Any suggestions on how to wire this in...
