    RTT Power / Light Solutions

I have 12v string lights from DFG off-road in my habitat camper. They put out great light but, despite being LED, draw quite a bit of charge from my house battery. I use them when setting up or for something quick, but I just use a small rechargeable light for anything more than 20 minutes or...

    Drop in stove.

Partner Stove has many options on their website. I bought this little one, which fits snug in a basic shoulder bag and stows in the truck. The stove wasn't cheap, but it performs well and will outlast me. It pairs up nicely with a TailGater Tire Table, leaving enough space for basic food prep.

    Setup and Security

Though newer Fords trucks are better protected from theft than previous generations, per my insurance, they're notoriously easy to steal. I had a total loss of my '05, forcing me to star anew ... costly and very frustrating. I recommend protecting your vehicle before starting the overland...

How bare bones do you go for a short trip?

That's my approach as well. My truck bed is crowded, but always packed with cooking/cutlery/propane and one week of backpackers food (family of 4). Water and extra diesel are the variables. I always carry my sleeping bag and extra blankets, as I use the camper regularly. If the family is...

US West SD County NEW monthly meet-up

I’m up for a pkg lot meet-up. It’s about one year ago we did the group Anza-Borrego trip. Every family is unique, but I’d be up for a quick trail run and/or simple overnighter somewhere nearby. Basic social distancing protocol ...

SOLD SOLD - Partner Steel 2 Burner 22″ Propane Stove

Selling a basically new stove. This one does NOT have the built in wind screen in the link below. It came in my Kanz Kitchen Box. I replaced it with the single burner version to free up space in my rig. New these are $375 with the windscreen. I'm asking $250 for mine and will include the...

US West SD County NEW monthly meet-up

My son and I are probably going to Joshua Tree next weekend (6/12). Their website confirms most individual campsites are open, but currently first come first served. Do any of you have experience with nearby trails for my truck or on a Yamaha dual sport bike? thx much

    Big Rigs, Full Sized Only

SWEET rig, love it! What you sacrifice on tight trails you make up for in comfort and payload. I have an F350 (SRW) and appreciate the same tradeoffs.
