US Rocky Mountain Rocky Mountain Region July Meet-Up- Alexander Lake- High Uintah's Utah

If this is going to be the south site, we will need to post up a couple of turn directions after you leave the 041, as there are multiple confusing turns based upon the best map I could get (which does not match well with reality)

I didn't take a pole since I was only going to be there mid afternoon. The locals said no bites.

Better MAP The pix on the rally point appears to be the south campground. Is that correct? Is that the one we are going to meet at or is that just a stock photo? North Campsite looing North East towards the NE Campsite North Campsite looking South towards the South Campsite.

US Rocky Mountain Rocky Mountain Region July Meet-Up- Alexander Lake- High Uintah's Utah

I went up and scouted the area yesterday. There are four different trails to the lake. Which site are we going to be at? Getting to the lake can be a bit confusing. The map I got is not very detailed and led me astray a few times. If we are going to the south end, could someone bring a...

OB Approved How to Install a Roof Top Tent

I always found that a case of microbrew, some bbq and a half dozen friends could help on jobs like that. Don't rule out us old farts as far as helping.

US Rocky Mountain Rocky Mountain Region July Meet-Up- Alexander Lake- High Uintah's Utah

Hope my HAM antenna gets here before then. I am thinking about running up there this weekend and scouting the area. I might see how the fishing is. On the map I see two roads and camping spots on the lake. Anybody know which we are going to congregate at?

    Jeep Badge of Honor

This is a great idea. If I had a badge for every trail I have run, I wouldn't have to paint my Jeep.

    Has overlanding become elitist ?

My surgeries were due to stupidity in being an adrenaline junky and accidents. They never kept me from doing things, they made it to where I could do stupid things again. My wife of 44 years says I never bothered to grow up. I have also broken my neck twice and have 4 fused vertebrae.

    Solar Panel Open Discussion/Debate/Review

Thanks for the info. I plan on grabbing a couple for my teardrop. I wired it for them when I built it but, building is an incremental process.

    Has overlanding become elitist ?

What you have to remember is that you don't get that many tools or learn how to use them overnight. Many of the tools I built my self and I have been working at it for 50 years. I am an migrant aerospace engineer. I travel around the world working on projects and am far from home and my toys...

    Has overlanding become elitist ?

This thread pretty much sums up my view on offroading. I have been doing what everybody calls overlanding for 50 years. I have done it in everything from a 62 Ford farm truck to a 73 Chevy Van I put a fiberglass top on and built the insides for camping. My wife and I covered the Rocky...

Moving from the US to England

Do you have emissions testing? If it passes here in the USA, will it pass there? Are the levels similar?
