This has been a great help. I was hoping to join the net tonight while driving across PA. I guess that wouldn't work. I'll just do it with my cell instead.
I always wanted to connect a motion sensor to lights and have it play the sound of chambering a shell in a 12 gauge pump and a tent zipper. Maybe my voice saying "Honey, hold my pistol while I get the shotgun"
I posted a thread asking for info on how to get on EchoLink from a 2m radio. If anybody could answer a couple of questions, it would be appreciated.

I am a new Ham, but in no way new to radio and communications. I have been designing spread spectrum radios for commercial and military use for years. Getting the Ham license was a breeze because the technical stuff is what I do all day.
I have used EchoLink over the web and my cell phone...
I wheeled all over Colorado in an XJ with a 2.5L. Never was at a loss for power offroad, but pulling the mountain passes got a bit slow when fully loaded. I loved getting 25mpg+.

I didn't say that exactly. I said that tying a solar panel directly to a battery or multiple batteries can lead to problems. If you use a cheap charge controller, it solves the overcharge and discharge issue.
If you are tying multiple batteries in parallel, they all need to be of similar...
I take your recipe a bit further. I brown cubed pineapple from the can, the cook down the syrup, add some veggies, water chestnuts, onions, soy, hosin sauce, etc , and put it over chow mein noodles. I call it Spam Polynesian.
