yes i need to try it out. i did same on my 2001 and was testing it when i was stuck and it was like 20 min job only for me alone noone around to get unstuck and drove off from there. so i know it works.
dont know what esle could saved me from that first picture, but you not going from that...
So reverse lights are bad on most cars to begin with. You cant see well in dark when you parking in dry weather but in rain or fog it becomes almost impossible.
Many do just extra led lights on roof rack when modifying car a lot for overlanding offrading but what if you want to keep that stock...
As subarus dont have option to use hi lift jack when you lift it its becoming pretty high from ground and normal jack wont do anymore plus it would take just minutes to recover car from being stuck , so before i did it similar on my 2001 outback and now for my 2005 outback. Front is bolt on ...
Its not light not thin not aluminum or stainless steel, its from what i found leftovers steel that i used for my skid plate and such. But its for carying in car so no mather that its not light. But i think it will hold al ot better then those thin ones .
well it should be winter now here with lots snow as previous years, but well not this winter i guess. first i bought car with smaller winter tires, but i wanted to know how big tires i could put there with lift, so i bought those used tires for cheap just for testing. i had AT Ko2 tires on...
and hi lift points in rear done too, not recovery yet put i just modified some of the original aluminum crush bumper in there and i thought its really will be strong enough for hi lift jack to just lift car if i need. so that was simple modification for that
i will do later my own tow bar...
pitch black in forest, i mean those small cheap led lights for reverse light made big difference what i could see when im backing up
and on sand its just amazing, even with full psi winter tires no problem on soft sand, plenty power too to have fun when you want it
and i mean now i have like...
i duno gearbox might get up in temp but not AWD system because its allways all wheel drive not connected to AWD like most new ones, its more like old audi quatro system, its allways all wheels nothing is connecting or overheating there, at least auto gearbox. manuals then have their own problems...
outbacks are great and comfy and spacy cars but wires are not secured no matter what year or model car you would choose. there are some sprays that are made for wires against those bad creatures. nothing to do with car. for small car crosstek is ok , like for one or two people in it not more.
so lift was good but it has some small tires there. so i thought why no go wabank and put all that it can handle. at least with 2'' lift these cant take anymore, and i did some cuting myself there so front wheels could even turn kinda good, its still rubs some on situations but its half ok now...
after last couple mods. 225/65R17 tires. and made my version of front recovery points and hiliftjack lifting points, and they are bolt on , nothing is welded to cars metal at all.
