    Cordless Chainsaw

A sharp chain makes all the difference in the world with any chainsaw, and "new" doesn't always equate to "sharp". I would encourage any of you interested in getting the most time out of a battery to spend some time learning to sharpen a chainsaw with a file.

    DIY DEWALT CHAINSAW BOX

Looks good but I think I'd just dismount the bar/chain and save some more room.

Synthetic Winch Rope and Snatch Block any Insight?

What you don't want to do is use a synthetic rope in a block that has run wipe rope previously. Look for a block that has minimal clearance between the sheave and the side plates and with the largest, smoothest circumference you can stand. The "recovery rings" like from Factor 55 or Custom...

Is an overland 5th wheel an option?

A fifth wheel will turn inside of the tow unitwhich could be a massive problem off road under the right circumstances. Bumper pull will largely follow the track of the tow unit. Personally I wouldn't even consider a fifth wheel for "off road" use for that reason. Losing the ability to have a...

    BLM Camping: camp security

That only indicates the people locked up for it, not the rate of occurrence. Good luck even getting the police to respond to property crimes in most places.

    BLM Camping: camp security

LOL that is anti-prison industry propaganda. But yes, there is abundant evidence that there are thieving parasitic shit heads all over the United States and more being enabled daily. The highest concentrations are predictably in the hives, but they are everywhere.

Who's upgrading their rig or planning a trip with their tax return?

And are conditioned to not understand why.

Who's upgrading their rig or planning a trip with their tax return?

LOL, there are people who get money "back" that never paid any. There should be no payroll withholding, everyone should have to settle up once a year. Things would change then.

Total Newbie in search of adventure to balance modern life

Everybody brings something to the table. Sometimes it's that nasty green jello with coconut that grandma used to make and I don't want any, but everybody brings something. Welcome, and "run what you brung" I'm a self professed gear queer but that doesn't mean I'll think any less of you if you...

Who carrys a firearm with them while camping?

When people are telling you that "you don't need something " that is a sure sign that you need it. Especially when those "people" are politicians.

What kind of knives do you carry?

Depends on what I'm doing, where I'm going an what I'm wearing. The 3 most common in order of precedence are Meyerco 18 X-Ray pretty much all day everyday, SOG Spec Elite II if I'm wearing big overalls, and a Kizer Salient iwb if circumstance suggest a need.

spend 39 minutes of your life here

I spent lots of years working on ,racing and breaking cars. I think that is part of why I enjoy working on vehicles so much today. I can relate to that part of the story and the rest of it is just pretty darned fulfilling, glad you enjoyed.

spend 39 minutes of your life here

Well good, you don't reallhave to be "in to cars" to appreciate the value in that story, but that car the way it is optioned is extraordinarily rare if not one of a kind, and the fact that they have decided to leave it unrestored to honor both his father as well as the integrity of the machine...
