Old picture but I'm running a FoxWing Awning and plan to use a Foxwing Tagalong Tent. It's a ground tent very similar to the RV-3 pictured above but instead of the awning you see above it zips into the foxwing awning.
It should be mentioned that while the Foxwing Tagalong Tent is 1/2 the price...
Hah yea be cautious with that! I've had a good bit of experience with heat exchanger units on sailboats and I always had to warn people that if you went full hot it would easily scald you.
This was an old thread from back when I started building. I've pretty much got everything squared away now but I looked at all the options. Check out my build thread or shoot me a message if you have any questions.
Got my new FJ Cruiser wheels on this weekend. These are a perfect fit for the GX as they look good and help gain 15mm of offset back. The stance is so much better. They will eventually be powder coated somewhere between hyper silver and black but they'll stay aluminum for awhile at least.
It's a Foxwing Awning and FoxWing Tagalong Tent for me. It's basically an OzTent that zips into my foxwing awning. I have a family of four and a four person RTT was going to take up my entire roof rack. I couldn't afford to lose that roof storage space.
I'm interested to hear how you did at Windrock with that setup. I figure my GX is about the same lift/tire size etc as you. Were you banging the underside and sliders a lot?
I'm going to be purchasing the Foxwing Tagalong RV-5 Tent eventually. I was planning on strapping on the roofrack upgainst my foxwing awning. I have a FrontRunner Slimline II
I hear ya. I could still get in one with frontrunner rack and 2 in lift but the foxwing and MaxTrax put me over the height restrictions.

While I do appreciate your input and agree that private landowners are in the right when it comes to private areas I don't agree with your stance on a gps file. I've purchased the map to support the map maker and his efforts. The .gpx files I choose to share with friends of mine were recorded by...
I was a little concerned about the tightness of camping area aswell because I'll be using a Oz Tent connected to FoxWing so footprint is bigger than a RTT.
I feel your pain and anxiety over Toyota/Lexus keys. Check out "1010 Keys" on Ebay. They have a store and are very reliable. I've spoken with several people who have used them. The fobs are not very reliable (break easy) and their are options for that as well. Luckily someone at Tandem...
