    Ice Pack In Fridge

I freeze a 12 pack of water and put it in my cooler. That way I always have cold water and it does not make a mess as it melts. I very rarely put ice directly in my cooler.

    HAM interference with fog lights?

WARNING!!! Technical crap ahead All ferrite chokes are not the same. The material and shape determines the frequency range. Some chokes are for very high frequency or very low frequency. As it turns out, the noise caused by the choppers is broad band. In other words it ranges from low to...

    HAM interference with fog lights?

Put a .001uf, .01uf, .1 uf, and 1.0uf ceramic caps as close to the lights as possible. Follow up with a ferrite before the wire back to the battery. The reason for the 4 sizes in parallel is that the smaller caps have a higher frequency response. Each size basically will help across the whole...

Being a fabricator and engineer, I love your blue tape mockup. Sure helps to visualize it.

I'm not going to go out and buy all the meat without a headcount. I am fine buying it but not fine with wasting effort and money.

    Off road trailer tongue

My tongue is different from most, being mounted soo high. It is also longer. It has never been a problem and allows extreme articulation. I may shorten it 6 inches some day when I have time, but it has never given me any issues either on or off road.

Thoughts on swapping to a smaller tire size

The weight of the tire/rim has less to do with mpg's than the diameter and its effect on engine rpm's. If you lug down the engine (get it out of its power band) your mpg's will suffer. If you regear to get the rpms back up, you will feel an increase in performance and if done correctly, an...

    Camping in WY/MT grizzly country

I actually have a bunch of trip wire shotgun shell initiators. I use 12 gauge blanks. It makes a non-lethal brilliant flash and a horrendous bang. It startles most animals and makes them instantly flee. They are legal in all 50 states. I just string up a perimeter when I leave or at night...
