Finally removed the running boards and mounted my 255/85/16's. Roof rack is supposed to arrive next week. As soon as I get it powder coated I can get it any my RTT mounted.
I wouldn't keep one in a 36 hour bag. Remember, a 36 hour bag is supposed to keep you supplied for 3 days, not surviving in the wilderness. Here is a good podcast explaining what should be in a 3 day bag.

Picked up this awesome storage unit from Jerry @ Tembo Tusk along with a Skottle. Also picked up some stock land cruiser torsion bars to replace the smaller AHC ones.

I forgot to post way back then that the place I bought the bumper from messed up on the shipping and wanted to charge me another $100 to ship over what I had already paid. I cancelled it.
My reply is simple. Your forum, your rules. If people don't like it, they are free to leave. I understand that you want this to be everyone's forum, but at the end of the day, it belongs to you. I like this place, so I'll be sticking around.
They are plastic on plastic, unless you get the o-ring for them. I read somewhere online that you could run a large beard of silicon in the channel on the lid and then let it dry and that it works well to seal the box up. I have not yet tried it so I can't tell you how well it works or if at all.
I returned my 1819 cases to walmart today and bought the 1919 cases they had for the same price. I really disliked the hinge on the 1819 cases. They kept coming apart, and were generally just a pain in the ass. The 1919's lids come completely off, which I like better. I have a write up comparing...
I keep all my recover gear in a small Plano tote. The reason I have such a large tote (comparably) is that I have a pair of Go Tread foldable traction mats, and it all fits inside nicely.
I'd just run down to the local military surplus store and see if they have something. Or check out Lowes or Home Depot and look at the tool bags. I don't see the point to spending the extra money on a bag just because it has a fancy name on it, but then again I'm a cheap ass. Out of curiosity...
