I've always waxed my windshield. Helps the water run off, and seems to make it easier to spray the bugs off. You do have to keep up with it though. At least with some spray on stuff once every month or two. I think I only have to get the paste wax out once every year or two. Good frameless...

We've accepted that it will rain every time we camp. I think we've had maybe one trip where there was none, and that's always nice. Better to expect it and be happily surprised I guess.

What size comes on it? I think most of the gen 5 Outbacks have 18" rims, so you will have to check clearance to make sure the 16 will fit over the hub/brake assembly. As for the tire size, the 225 is the width in mm, the 75 is % of the 225, and 16 is rim size. There are charts and calculators...

Looks good. I'm starting to shop for a 4runner or Land Cruiser. We have an Outback that gets most of the love, but I want to get some places it just can't go. Looks like you got a solid deal too. Most of the 4runners I see around here for that price are ready to rust in half or have 250k miles.
