I'll create a "conversation" so we can hash out the details without further thread-jacking this thread then.
The people that have expressed interest will be included in the conversation and any further people who mention in this thread that they are interested will be added to the...
We could do a bit of wheeling and could even turn it into an Overnighter for any people that want to camp for the night...sit around the campfire and shoot the crap after a few hours of wheeling.
It should be a great time of year with the leaves turning colours, few bugs, etc.
There's a good...
If you are also looking at upgrading to a larger roof rack - it will protect your roof.
I have the ARB full rack with a mesh grid. I'm up there A LOT ratchet strapping stuff down or setting up my solar panels.
Just an FYI.

You get what you pay for... sounds like you know that though.
Just grab one that you can afford... a $50 one should work for a bit. I melted mine down but it lasted a few months (almost a year), then I got an ARB one.
Good luck.
The flood way is off limits now.
There are a few trails east of Wpg that can be a bit of a challenge though.
Drop me/us a line when you have a date and we should organize a day for the OB crowd.
Boondock for me.... although "backwoods camping" is a bit more descriptive of where/how I camp. Remote enough that I can teach my kids to shoot without bothering anyone else.
No sir... just back in my college days I built a similar leanto and spent a night or 2 in the winter. That's where I first learned about a reflector log wall (at least that's what I called it).
That kind of lean-to looks familiar, lol. Good call on the reflector log wall on the opposite side of the fire. Brings back some memories :sunglasses:
Great pictures!

Take a beer out, put a beer in. Beauty in it's simplicity. Lol.
I had it set at -12 for some reason one time and my solar panels and 2 deep...
Yes, a vacuum sealer rocks! We got one of those FoodSaver varieties and also got an Xcalibur dehydrator for veggies.
We also use a lot of ziploc bags. For instance we put the hotdogs in a ziploc prior to even using them so then we don't have to hunt around for a ziploc when we do open up the...
A little 4 day foray.... rained for 2 days straight. It was beautiful weather when we got there to set up camp and then the last day to break camp, lol.
A muskrat swam past us...
With 2 days of rain the girls found things to do in the screen tent....
Good thing we had extra TP!!
A...
Sounds about right. My guess is 15,000 lb would be the sweet spot. I've seen recovery straps for that exact amount. I don't buy super expensive ones so if/when I break them I get another one without too much crying, lol.
I honestly don't know what mine is rated for at the moment... it's been...
