I like BBM. I can share my real time gps location as well. Family members and friends can see where I am and what speed I am going. It minimizes the "where are you" texts when I'm heading somewhere.
EDIT: 2019 now....
I use Whatsapp now... BBM is done.
Telegram is also a good app for groups.
I like the fact that the floating bar is gone, that made it tough to zoom in and click on a mobile device.
The mobile chat and top of page arrow is pretty big though.
Looks like you drive a toyota... there are a few options for gas tank skids for you out there.... ounce of prevention and all that.
Some good ideas in this thread already though!
So the other weekend I went camping and 4x4'ing.
There was a standing dead tree relatively close to camp so I went to cut it for firewood. There was a lot of underbrush around the base and there was also a broken piece of another tree hanging up top in "widow-maker" fashion.... it wasn't huge...
I planned ahead and got an extra large tent (8 man Extreme Weather Tent by Cabelas) for our family of 4. I knew she would not like the claustrophobic feeling of a small tent... and I would be basically introducing her to tenting.
We can stand in it and the kids sleep in bunk beds, creating even...
Maybe your questions are too hard, lol.
If I don't have anything positive to contribute to a conversation I typically don't participate..... contrary to this post that is, lol.
Don't take it personally... I'm sure others are in a similar boat as well.
I believe that's what the "helper" selection means in our profiles.... willing to lend a hand if/when called on. At least that's what I'm considering it... lol.
:laughing::laughing: Haha!
I have to reinforce the bracket at the base... pretty sure it's not made for a free-standing 20' mast... lol. It's just a basic base you see satellite dishes mounted into.
I got the following.
https://www.costco.ca/Uniden%C2%AE-U2-Cellular-Booster-Kit-with-Outdoor-Omni-and-Indoor-Whip-Antenna.product.100230913.html
It worked ok just on the base on the roof rack... but it seemed to be getting some feedback loop as the outdoor antennae was too close to the...
We dehydrate our vegetables for camping. We then add them into pasta sauces, etc when we're on the trail. One day we'll get on top of things a bit better with our dehydrator (Xcalibur) and put whole meals together....
Between that and our FoodSaver vacuum sealer we compress things pretty...
Years ago I thought about those for my FJ... but ultimately decided replacing a taillight was cheaper than doing bodywork.
If there's an impact it is transferred to the body rather than cracking the lens.
Just my 2 cents.

For the discussion about getting the grounds to drop in a pot of boiling water... put a splash of cold water in the pot and the grounds will settle. No need to swing it around, lol.
I originally bought FJNewbs kit (as listed above) but the cheap plastic hoses cracked and my rear diff ended up wide open to the water.
In my environment I would not recommend a plastic hose... use a pliable rubber hose that can withstand the elements. The other hoses from the kit have held up...
I put a standard fitting into mine and ran washer fluid hose up into the engine bay. It was pretty cheap. Definitely cheaper than the relocation kit from ARB for over $100.
As far as the above product... it should work just fine if it stays on the barbed fitting. I would use a little hose...
