    Jeep Patriot - Incognito Build

That's an interesting idea! Following this thread for sure.

    5/8" Hitch pins

Yeah, you can get higher grade hitch pins from tractor supply for farm implements but if you shear a reece or curt hitch pin, you violated a number of common sense safety rules.

Anyone ever do this route? West of Austin, TX?

Some to add to the list for a nice drive is the winery in sisterdale (sister creek). That is some beautiful country in the spring. It is paved so watch for everything from bicyclists and motorcycles to farm trucks and tractors. While you are in the area you should spend a few minutes at the old...

    5/8" Hitch pins

Go to an agriculture equipment store like tractor supply.

Anyone ever do this route? West of Austin, TX?

Also, keep track of hunting seasons. Locals know who isn't local. Off road rig on an out of the way county road during a hunting season is usually assumed to be a poacher.

Anyone ever do this route? West of Austin, TX?

I might have been on parts but I'll have to check the map. Phone isn't cooperating right now. I do know that there isn't public camping along little county roads. Generally if you want to camp, you get the landowner's permission.

Hidden Falls (Central Texas) Wheelin Weekend - April

I think next trip I'll ride and be radio and nav. I'm busy the first weekend but pretty flexible on the others.

    Jeep renegade

I'll say that if I had known the 1.4 turbo engine would out perform my 2.4 as much as it does, I probably would have considered the renegade more.

    Jeep renegade

Actually it is a fiat sent over dry so check the hoses and fluids before leaving the parking lot. His had a crack in the AC line.

CB antenna set up/ connection - Do I need a longer stud?

No, the rf signal will go through the threads. Just make sure everything is good and tight.

    Jeep renegade

A friend of mine has the renegade 1.4T with the manual transmission. Even for it being 2wd, it gets around in the sand very well, climbs rocks and hills (as much as clearance allows), 30+ mpg and enough power to pull a small bay boat. He put a lift and big tires and now it sits almost the same...

    Water Systems

For washing stuff off I use a 3 gallon pump sprayer and a separate 7 gallon cube for bulk. Drinking water comes from gallon jugs. So far I haven't used every drop but I've been close. Eventually I plan on running some 3 inch pvc pipe under the trailer and using my air compressor on a valve...

    Ozark Trail coolers at Wal-Mart

That is normally my argument except I live in a space not much bigger than a shoe box and coolers are bulky. [emoji1]

    Ozark Trail coolers at Wal-Mart

That's why my gear trailer is almost fully caged. Keeps sticky fingers off the kayak, generator, cooler, etc. My WM stores have all 3 sizes but I'm still debating since I recently got a new 26 qt igloo marine. I don't really need another cooler.

    Solar hot water tank prototype

Where'd you get that valve stem at?

    Texas surf fishing trips

Yeah, might need some very high flotation tires for that leg of the trip.

    Texas surf fishing trips

I'll use this thread for throwing out open invites for anyone who has been wanting to try some surf fishing. I'm thinking my first trip this year will be in the later half of April to Matagorda, Tx. Texas has crazy weather, especially this time of year so I probably won't have specifics until a...

Bedding for camping, what do you use?

I'm still in a ground tent so my Rio Adventure cot and 5 ft outdoor foam chair cushion are staples. It doesn't get cold down here so I went back to a sheet and blanket. In total, it takes up more space than just a sleeping bag but the cot and cushion can ride in the roof rack or trailer if...

Howdy, I'm in and around san marcos and san antonio.
