What do you do for simplex channels? I’ve seen img files with rows after rows of channels. Do you program channels from 2m and 70 cm? What spacing is commonly used?
My question is not about how to program my radio, my question is what frequencies should I program? I’m thinking NOAA, GMRS receive only and a bunch of simplex channels and leave room for repeaters? My radio, TYT UV-88 has 200 channels. How should I divvy these up for best coverage? What am...
Never heard of such a thing. We boondocked on BLM land all over the west. Never an issue. There is an LTVA pass or permit, but that is for staying on certain areas designated by BLM as open for long term camping.
Lake City to Cinnamon Pass, California Pass, Corkscrew and then Ophir. We spent the night in Silverton. That would be great! We are staying in Ouray for a week starting September 15th. Company is always welcome, especially locals that know all the good spots...
It looked like there had been...
Yep, we just thought there would be more along the trail. On a positive note, we are heading back to Colorado in September for nothing but nailing all these passes. I just watched a video of TinCup Pass filmed last year or 2019 in the middle of July. They were turned back near the summit due...

I saw a video done by Lifestyle Overland where they had water containers like these and they had a battery operated faucet pump. They are $12 On Amazon. Looked pretty slick. https://amzn.to/39kcJs1

You will be paying more than the average as you will be buying more fuel more often with less choices. We were floored when we got to Boise City, OK and paid way more than we had been paying along the way. We had to have it though, the next fuel stop is Trinidad, Co.
