    Davy Crockett National Forrest, Texas

Biggest continental state? Absolute least overlanding options. But to be fair, I haven’t been to Rhode Island.

Kayaks - Inflatable, Rigid, Folding. . . whaddya have and how do ya like it?

Cant wait to redfish in Louisiana :grinning: If you don’t mind me asking, why did you down convert from the Pro Angler to the Outback? Was it just a weight issue, or something else? I’m about to pull the trigger on a Hobie but because it’s the absolute top-of-the-line but I want to make sure...

Kayaks - Inflatable, Rigid, Folding. . . whaddya have and how do ya like it?

I’ve got the pedal-driven version, the Pescador Pilot, and love it. I wanted this model as a backup after I got my Hobie, but found this one locally for a steal. Has a micro anchor power pole to keep you from drifting in shallow water, and pedal-power frees up your arms to keep fishing! I...

    Tablet vs lap top

If it were me, I’d figure out which photo editing software I liked using the best and then go from there. They’re typically optimized for one platform over the other.

    Here from Texas

Welcome to OB! Always good to see Nissans on the trail.

US Southwest DFW Monthly Recurring Overland Bound Meet

Same here. Work has me tied up until late August but I’m looking forward to making my first meet

    Glad to be here

    Howdy from Texas :grinning:

    Legal Weapons and Overlanding

I also like that with my shotgun I have the option of having a couple non-lethal rounds loaded before the lethal ones. I have no problem taking a life to defend myself or family, but I would honestly prefer not to have to. And the intimidation factor is about as high as it can get with a short...

I don't understand open bed trucks with racks and tents.

+1 for the my-wife-thinks-shells-are-for-old-people camp :tearsofjoy: Would have had one on my last Titan if it weren’t for that. I personally am going with a rack+RTT, not because I think it’s better overall but because it’s better for our specific situation. I enjoy seeing varied setups and...

    They Call Me Tank

Howdy from Texas, and welcome to OB!

    Veiwing last name

Admins can remove it for you. If you make any changes to your profile, it won’t save unless you put something in the last name slot. I just used an initial. The site should quit doing that, or at least give new members the option before publicly posting, but that’s just one mans humble opinion.

I’m in for a pair as well

    SW Arkansas (Texarkana) new member

Welcome to OB! I’m not too far south of you in east Texas, but we head up to Ouchita at least twice a year. We’ve got our own forests here in ET, but they’re nothing like what you guys have up there

    New guy from East Texas

Welcome to OB! I’m right up the road from you in Longview. I hope to have my Titan trail-ready in the next couple of months. When you get yours up-and-running, we should hit Barnwell Mountain. I haven’t been there since I was in the ‘Scouts
  15. LD5050

    Why?

I should have my Titan up and running by then and would love to take it to Barnwell Mountain, if that’s where you’re talking about! And to the OP, I hear what you’re saying but as others have stated, don’t sweat it. We can meet up for a ride (I’m less than 100 miles away) and you can make fun...

    Overland Related Recreation

Most of what’s been mentioned before, plus kayak fishing, plinking (or suppressed higher-caliber shooting), whittling, foraging, tightrope-walking, astral photography, bird watching, fossil hunting, metal detecting, canine recreation, kite flying, chess, and my personal favorite: reading a good...

    In the Public's eye

What beach? This is a Texas public beach and that’s part of the problem, not it being a beach in general. What vote? Locals are taking signatures to get the event cancelled, but they can’t stop people from gathering on that same beach just under a different event name, or no name at all. If you...

    In the Public's eye

My point was mostly missed I think. The OP should have posted the rant in a Jeep forum, in my opinion. The accusatory tone didn’t really belong here, and the “you Jeep people” solidified it. Yes, the event affects us (me more than some of you, as my family visits Galveston and Crystal beach...

    A new hope.

Great looking truck, and nice RAM mount mod! I’m in the market for a ‘15 Titan Pro 4x right now.

    In the Public's eye

You were doing so well, and then May as well ask “Ford people” to start policing their own. If I had to arbitrarily lump all those stupid people together, I’d definitely go with “Houstonians” over “Jeep people”. And I don’t own or particularly like Jeeps, and I’ve lived in Houston twice. The...
