My 20vMAX DeWalt setup is very handy when we’re staying in the wilderness. The chainsaw and blower see the heaviest use, but it’s nice having the rest when you need ‘em (impact, reciprocating saw, Brad nailer, etc)
I use the Power Station to charge my batteries. It’s big, but with (4) 9Ah...
Welcome to OB from Texas! I agree, that color is fantastic. You’ve got a great platform for overlanding, that’s a more than capable truck and it has pretty good aftermarket support.
I’m from Texas, so... yeah. Normally on excursions here in the South, we keep a cheap S&W 9mm handgun in the truck.
Growing up with firearms (responsibly), we’ve never had issues with safety or proper usage. “Always be prepared” isn’t only for Boy Scouts:grinning:
East TX here, 15 min from Barnwell lol. We get to DFW at least once a month to see friends and eat decent food.
We sold our F150 and are now in the process of building up a ‘15 Titan. Hope to have enough done to make a beach trip down to South Padre before summer’s over.

I’ve always relied on a kind of weird method. It’s not the easiest to get set up, but once it’s in place you can pretty much forget about it.
We find the biggest red wasp nest we can (they are the aggressive @*%holes in these parts), usually in the woods, and kill them all with spray. Then...
IMHO with your budget and goals I would use a larger part of the $ on a newer, more reliable truck and only get the absolute essential upgrades at first. Then save up/ upgrade along the way as you’re financially able.
Takes a little more time and patience (which always sucks) but you end up with...
I’ve found a small bag of powdered gold works in all situations, as long as everyone has their scales. And, if you don’t have a zip code, then you’re obviously a terrorist :mask:
/sarcasm
Roof vs bed/ trailer carry is a big factor where weight is concerned. Do you use any type of landing gear to launch?
If so, is it temporarily or permanently mounted?
