I will be trying to attend and quite possibly may have a couple other rigs along with me if it shakes out right.
Make sure you check some of the trails and do not follow their guidelines explicitly. I walked a bit down a couple trails and passed even though they looked good at the start. It...
Agreed. Most rolls are due to stupidity or a few times it is a good driver really pushing their rig a bit too hard.
You also need to know which place will have the most trails for what is desired and that is what I am trying to convey through my experiences on the places in question...
The badge thing is a joke. I just don't get it.
You guys may be better at Badlands or likely Interlake for what it sounds like you want. I would say Redbird has a higher damage potential than Badlands after a few trips to both. I saw this within 5 minutes of getting on trail at Redbird my...
There are some dirt trails that run around through the park as well. There is stuff for everyone, but I think Badlands is more stock-ish friendly myself.
Lights all hooked up. Need to aim headlights, but got the marker lights working for first time in awhile. What to put the side LED strips on a switch or with the parking lights. The bumper lights do quite well for 27 watt Amazon units.
Been a bit, but I got some updates in the works. A new winch bumper is at powdercoat now and some new to me projector headlights. Also have some 5125 rear shocks to toss on. Picked up some doors my buddy Regulator started cutting for trail use and he then traded them to me to get some that...
Its a fun place. I when for Hi-Lift day a few years back and it was "dry" time and as you see in pics, Redbird has mud always. Some trails are rather intense and we had a few jeeps with body damage trying to stick to moderate stuff.
will check calendar and see if I can get...
I like to sleep in my truck as well and have this barrier which only goed just below the seat back so you can slide right under it with the seats folded flat. The gate stops right above the Plano and speaker box. Usually don't carry that camp toilet and the recovery bag and plano box can be...
I like the idea. I think it is your best option. Seen it done many ways and it seems to work, but part of my decision to avoid a Jeep suv was due to the lack of frame.
I have seen where they use a wider 2x and then tie in some fender bars to the front and rear bumpers for protection...a sort...
Not a fan of the author myself. He made a list of commandments for him and a good portion is not applicable to others, but he figures he is the gospel. I can agree on some points, but others are just not right for most travelers.
