All depends on what you really want, but it sounds like you never really considered a shotty as an option with that post. That is why I consider them two different tools for the toolbox.
Will you shoot me a PM with the PSA parts for $400? I told the wife last night the commuter is getting a...
If money is that big of issue....buy a $200 pump shotgun and spend the other half of a what an AR build is on ammo. For the cost of just an AR you can have a full compliment of ammo and a versatile weapon that can actually be hunted with legally.
Then build the more expensive gun and stock it...
I would not even bother comparing the AR platform to a pump shotgun platform. They are far too different to me, but I enjoy having both.
Shotgun is the one of the two that has fed my family, but not necessarily what i want if SHTF.
I love knives and have probably 100 plus. It is hard for me to pass them up far too often. I don't go for real expense but not bottom of the barrel either. There are some nice name brand ones tucked away, but generally I carry something that if lost or left or if I think someone needs it more...
I think when my 3 get here i will try some of this

i cant complain about the performance of my existing ones, but it might be a nice addition to seal them up just a bit...

I have had a set of Trailhead Deflators for 5 years or so and they have worked well for me. I don't generally do the driving with them on thing, but it does work if you like that.
This is a good write-up of some comparisons of several deflators...
I got 3 more of the 1819 on the way. I looked at the ones at walmart, but for near double the price with shipping I could not justify them since the 1819 have worked so well for years.
Little things:
I have found that having a couple zip ties, electrical tape and a pocket knife in the crago area and in each door panel has come in handy a ton of times on the trail. They are easy things to bury in your rig and then a pain to get to when you need one quick. They really take up...
Here are my real life pics and praise of the Green Filter I use. http://gmtnation.com/forums/threads/green-filter-experience.155/ It is an oiled filter, but I use little oil and make sure it is dry prior to install. I won't use anything else on something I drive off pavement.
On-Topic: A...
